I want a new loader

My current loader is kind of a "permanent mount" I know I could take it off, but it doesn't look particularly easy.

For those of you that have quick attach/detach loaders, how often do you take them off and put them on? It seems there really are few things that you'd need the loader off for, and it seems any rear mounted implement is only helped by having some front ballast: aka loader.

The reason I ask is to determine just how important the quick attach feature is.

If you are farming...there is plenty of tractor time to be SANS FEL...

Westendorf are pretty proud of their loaders. I think the price they quoted me via e-mail is more than what the dealer wants to charge me installed and everything.

This actually brings me to a more general question from those of you that have bought a new aftermarket loader... Do the prices quoted usually include the mounting kit or is the subframe/mounting kit an additional cost on top of the $2k to $3K price that is usually quoted on the websites.

To answer your question - No, most loader companies do not include everything in the quote, their pricing structures are typically listed in sections and the dealer has to price it out manually. Loader frame + cylinders + brackets + valve + joystick + bucket + hoses etc...

Our price packages are designed to give you the "total" cost, and not nickle and dime you after the sale.

The TA-55 loader suggested retail price quoted to you contained the Power-Mount feature, Hoses to install, power beyond if needed, Brackets, Joystick, Valve, Manifold, and 48" bucket. This loader is a minature versions of our bigger loaders, US built with 'quality' in mind and user friendly features. They have the same double tapered arms, internal arm I-Beams and quick dismount feaure as our larger ag line loaders.

Of course we take pride in what we manufacture, however quality and complete package pricing has more to do with the higher price you were quoted. You can always get by with something that costs less, like buying a cheap pair of coveralls. If you spend a little more and get the Carhartt brand, they'll fit better and last twice as long.

Anyone out there want to fill him in what it really entails to remove or re-install your loader if it doesn't have hydraulic mounting?

To your credit, it seems the "other guys" are equally as proud of their loaders once I start figuring in hydraulic packages, subframes, etc. I was just a little shell shocked since the $2500 to $3000 range was about what I was expecting based on internet research I had done.

To your additional credit, I have since browsed the catalog I received in the mail, and the literature has succeeded in convincing me that Westendorf really does have some inovative and valuable features.

So I have discovered.

And, that's the point of the original question. I already have a FEL that I could adapt. I want a good one.

I think it's a matter of getting the old one adapted to stop the gap while I save up some money to get a good FEL.
