OK most of you know what has happened to me recently. While this delima is under litigation, I will still need a tractor to Complete this Project to Help Feed People in Need While my Tractor is in Waiting for Parts and REPAIR

I would like a few dealers to contact me by PM here and show me what you can do to help me complete my project.

I want a New Tractor with a FEL and possibly Shuttle Shift, from 30 to 45 HP, possible rear hydraulic lines for hydraulic attachments if sensible, ROPS, Seat Belt, Fuel Gauge, High/Low Beam Lights, Brake Lights, turn signals and emergency lights or warning light if I need to travel the country roads here. I will also need a trailer to pull tractor with FEL and a Bush Hog. Probably about 20 foot. A tag along or a goose neck will be acceptable. Goose Neck Preferable. Please see how good a deal you can make to Help Me Help Others. No Trades Here... just straight buying. Must have a warranty that is stood behind and no stupid loopholes!

I would prefer a dealer near Westminster, SC however, I will be compelled to travel atleast 500 miles for the right deal. We would have to get the purchase set up over the phone/fax before I drove that 500 miles. It would have to be a done deal and I would have to approve it once I arrived to pick it up. I also will consider a used tractor if it has a real warranty and the dealer stands behind it. PM your offers here or email me at bsm357@aol.com I will send you my phone number in email once you contact me.

I am also looking for parts to repair my Shibaura See What I Need Here

Jim, a couple of thoughts....

The typical process for relatively new tractor buyers is;

1. Describe how you want to use the tractor. In your case we know that from your other threads.
2. Get recommendations from other TBNers doing similar things.
3. Visit local, name brand (NH, JD, Kubota, Kioti, etc.) and look at what they have to offer, both new and used. Tell them what you want to use the tractor for, do not tell them what you want to buy right up front. See what they recommend.
4. Compare recommendations from different dealers.
5. Ask for dealer references. (see my advice in your Warranty thread.)
6. Let TBNers know what's been recommended.
7. Make a decision.

What you have posted here belongs more in the Classified section under Wanted to Buy.

Don't you have any name brand dealers in your area that you can visit?

Regarding your current, broken tractor. You are going to have a very hard time finding parts for that tractor. If someone asked me what would be the hardest tractor to find parts for, I think it'd be yours, no offense intended. A 1980's, refurbed, gray market, Chinese tractor from a small dealer. Each one of these attributes would make it hard to find parts for all by themselves, but combined, it borders on the impossible. Hence, my following advice.

If it was me, I'd swallow my pride, get the dealer/distributor to fix it, sell the tractor and treat the money lost as an expensive lesson. Any legal action is simply going to tie that tractor, and the money you spent on it, up for a longer period of time. If the tractor is not sitting at your place, eventually the dealer/distributor will start charging a storage fee. My advice, cut your losses, both financial and emotional, get it fixed, sell it and move on. TBNers are here to help you.

I got ya... I will be asking a lot of questions here and hoping that one of the dealers here will have something that will meet my needs. I have already forgotten about the raw deal. I am doing my best at getting it fixed and that is why I have a thread on TBN looking for a gear. I intend to fix it, use it until I can find another larger tractor.... then I will sell it. Right NOW I need a tractor. I liked the Massey Ferguson with trailer someone put in a thread that was deleted. If they would please post that link again it would greatly be appreciated.

Odds are only a gray market dealer will be able to get the part for you, or the dealer/distributor you bought the tractor from. PM either TractorErnie or EFC and see if they can get you the part.

Let me reiterate, visit your local dealers. While deals can sometimes be made on TBN, your best solution, at least the first place to start, is not here, it's with your local dealers.

Jim..I did a little googling and came up with this dealer in CA that claims he can get Shibaura parts. Heres the link:
HSTRACTOR

Looks like he may also have a sizable salvage yard and has some used parts as well. Might be worth checking out. Their phone number is on the link. There must be a broken down 80's vintage Shibaura somewhere in this country that we can salvage a gear from! I hereby chanllenge and call on all TBN members to help find it. Its a worthy cause....lets see what we can come up with...what d'ya say guys?! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

More salvage yards:
Rock Valley Tractors

Bozeman Salvage (this one has an online nation wide parts locator)

Sams Tractors (this page has a slew of salvage yards listed...4 or 5 in South Carolina)

Waynes Used Parts (also has part locator service)

Well....theres a few more to get you started anyways. If you do a google search for "tractor salvage yards", you'll get over 1000 hits if none of these pan out for you.

Ok the dealer wants $450.00 plus 4 hours labor to fix my tractor. I just do not have the money right now because I have a jeep payment coming up the 30th of August. My money has dwindled down to bare minimum. This project is going to have to go on hold for a while. Unfortunately I have no choice. I know this dealer will NOT fix the tractor under warranty and now I am afraid he may savatage my tractor if he keeps it any longer. Or at the least start charging me some kinda stupid storage charge. But atleast I have the land this far... surely things will come together soon. I believe God will take care of this somehow. Keep us in your prayers. God willing I will not let him down or the people in need.

Should I ask him to put back together so I can pick it up? Maybe I can find the part and fix it myself.

Not sure if you've found that ring gear yet. If none of those sources worked out try Adams Equipment Co.

An Update so far on the Ring Gear.

The company has supposely ordered the Ring Gear from over seas. They have had my tractor since around August 10th, 2005. I still have not gotten the tractor. I understand they have not gotten the part yet. That's strange because I Specifically asked about the availability of parts before I purchased the tractor. They said "No problem in getting parts... Shibaura makes Ford & New Holland Tractors and parts were readily avaiable" Now they are having trouble getting parts. Seems like they lied to me, or atleast didn't know what they were talking about, or didn't care when I purchased tractor. My suggestion is do research, research, research before purchasing a tractor and DO NOT take a dealers word that parts are readily available, they may not tell the truth or may not know. Now I have lost use of this tractor from August 10th, 2005 until no telling when. There should be a law against this that is enforcable.

If anyone knows where I can get the Ring Gear needed.... please PM me or email me at bsm357@aol.com Thank you.

Tractor's Ready for pickup. Hmmm... warranty or smoke screen??? Warranty covered part plus labor??? Compared to the quote under this to actual cost. What do you think??

I just got the following information from my attorney. This just isn't right but I will do what I have to do. Unfortunately I do not have the money to pick it up right now or on Monday. As you all know I was laid off myself. However... I do have a promising job prospect. I have went to the first interview and will go to the second interview on Monday. But, for now here is the info that was forwarded to me from my attorney from the dealership.

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( The tractor is ready. the labor charge is $520.00. He can pick-up the tractor Monday morning. He must bring certified funds for payment as to avoid any further problems. Just call after 8 am to advise when he will come. The guys might be at our other facility so I do not know if they will be here on Saturday or not. He can call if there is someone then he can make arrangements with them to pick up his tractor. Otherwise he can pick up the tractor on Monday no problems. )</font>

I think this actually shows me paying for all of it and my attorney doesn't see it. At any rate... there it is. What a long time to do without a tractor. From August 10th, 2005 until November 7th, 2005 ---- giving I can scrounge the $520.00 to pick up tractor.

I asked my attorney the same thing. He said they went through it with a fine tooth comb and supposely repaired everything. I only know of the ring gear and that's all my attorney is aware of.

By the way, I will be posting more in a Special Thread as part of the agreement to get tractor repaired. Watch for it after I pick up tractor. This is after I talk with Muhammed and he is aware of the information I need to post.
