Here's a pic of the sign. (Sorry for the delay)

I tacked it back up for the pic using little finish nails I had in my truck. Whoever originally nailed it up used five tar paper nails.

Note 1: This is the end of ~450 of fence we're in the middle of completing; I realized working in 95-degree was probably not doing me or my 65-year-old dad any favors.

Note 2: Look how fast those vines have grown on the fence!! Within 7 days of going up, there were some vines all the way to the top of the fence!!! I need some "Round Up" or some cows/ goats.

Because he vandalized his fence is why.

I'm sure it'd be ok for the guy to put a sign on the side of your house, you can just take it down.

Hmmm, your interpretation of vandalism & mine are completely different. Also I don't think a persons house & fence out away from everything is the same thing. Take the sign down, if it goes back up then there would be issues. I'm not saying it was right to put the sign up in the first place, but I really don't think it is worthy of making that much a fuss over it. Relax, drink a beer, smile, it really isn't that bad.

makes absolutely no difference...personal private property is just that...and by not seeking permission this act showed a total lack of respect for another' persons property...which IMO is a growing problem in America...

He seems to think that the further it is from my house, the less I really own it. :laughing: ... & the more I should be understanding when somebody else wants to use it or do something to it.

I'm not condoning it at all. I wouldn't appreciate it if it happened to my new fence, either. However, it took you what, maybe 30 seconds to remove it and maybe a couple minutes to call the guy that owns the company and tell him how much you didn't appreciate it and maybe ask him to come out and remove his sign. Then wash your hands of it.

On the other hand, how many minutes of your life have you spent talking about it, stewing and simmering, thinking of paybacks, hanging the sign back up, taking pictures, posting picture, etc... all negative forces on your otherwise peaceful life beppington?

Just call it what it is... a classless act by a poorly run company and let it go.

Don't worry, I'm putting it back in the trash. No calling. No confrontation. No nailing it to his door (it'd be an hour+ round-trip for me anyway!).

What can I say, work is slow right now.

Absolutely property is property if it aint yours leave it the **** alone or suffer the consequences treat others as you want to be treated we all get along fine!

The courts are getting bad enough about eminent domain don't let some company come along take property away from you too. jmho

And Mossroad makes a lot of sense at the same time there is a happy medium I would have called the guy 2 seconds after I saw the sign but I am a hot head we all have different ways of dealing thats life.

If I were a gambling man, I'd bet that they would take down the $1000 off sign and leave their sign even if the $1000 off sign belonged to the fence owner.:laughing:
