I recently purchased a Massey Fergusion 65 diesel year model 1963 I understand that there are 2 different diesel engines a 3.1 ltr and 3.3ltr how does one tell the difference

I believe the 3.1 is referred to in the parts book as a "Regular Diesel", while the 3.3 is referred to as a "Direct Injection"

Congratulations on the MF 65! For a 1963 model, you most likely have the Mark II. The easiest way to tell is to look at the fuel injectors: if they are installed vertically (straight down) into the cylinder head, you have the AD4.203 (3.3L) Direct Injection engine; if they enter at an angle, it's the older A4.192 (3.1L). You can also verify the engine serial number—the 3.3L version typically starts with 293.
