Finally had a decent storm to try it out. Here is a short video of me cleaning out in front of my wood pile.

In the up position, that blower sure is close to the ground?

That is something I noticed about mine too. My x534 uses the hydraulic lift same as it does for the mower deck. It has enough power to lift the blower, just not enough travel to raise it very high. I played with the adjustment on mine this year when I hooked it up and I could not get it to raise the bottom of the blower more than 5 inches. I'd like to see more but its not possible from what I can see, at least in a stock configuration.

Not sure quite why you need it to lift more, but the reason it can't is probably because the blower drivetrain can't be made to move over that wide a range. I don't know exactly how the PTO to the blower connection works on X5xx tractors, but if there is a U-joint involved they can only handle so far off-axis. That's certainly the case on my 455 - raise the blower too far and it gets very noisy and clearly is putting a lot of stress on things.

I picked up the 47 inch for my x534, I love it. I've only used it twice so far but just what an improvement over a regular blower or the shovel. Here is a picture of my baby.

The reason for more lift would be to make it easier to transition from the street to the driveway. I don't have the PTO engaged, but with the limited lift the front of the snowblower drags the curb when I come up the drive from the street, either straight on or at an angle makes no difference. You can't operate the snowblower when its raised because its belt driven and the offset between the pulleys when its raised will throw the belt, at least that's what happens on mine.

I'd like to build a blade to fit the quick attach for the snowblower. Even with manual angling it would be nice to be able to mount a blade quickly. I should have kept the blade from my old JD lawn tractor and made an adapter to mount it on the X534.
