Hydrostatic stall

I was pushing under a log and lifting when the tractor stalled before I could release pressure. Immediately tried to restart it, but it won’t turn over at all. I have power, radio and gauges work. I’m thinking hydrostatic pressure must be relieved for engine to turn over. Any suggestions?

Did you release hydro pressure by cycling the pedals?

Try turning on the key then depressing the forward or reverse pedal. That may do the trick.

Sounds to me like you have other non related issues. Back when I had a hydrostat, once the motor died, the pressure dropped to nil.

Make sure the safety switches aren’t the cause after the stall - gear in neutral, pto off, etc

With travel pedals in neutral their will be no hydrostatic load on the engine so like others have stated the problem is something else probably safety switch related.

Ive stalled hydrostats in the past, never anything needing to do but restart unit.

Make sure the hydrostatic pedals are centered. Every once in a while mine when I stall mine the pedals don't come all the way back to center and there must be a safety that prevents it from starting with a pedal depressed.

On Kubotas at least there is indeed a switch connected to the hst treadle mechanism. When the treadle is centred the switch is positioned so the tractor will turn over. It is a push button type switch, at least on mine.
On my mx5100 it is on the left side down underneath. To find it follow the hst treadle linkage. It may be out of adjustment in which case it should start by holding the key engaged and fooling with the treadle gently back and forth.
However the switch may be broken in which it won't start. This happened to me while piling brush. Shut off for lunch and it would not start. Found the switch had broken from brush.
