hydrolic noise

I have a 2009 Farmtrac 535; changed the hydroic filter, now have noise like air being pumped through system, almost like a loud rattle. Turned steering point to point, lifted 3ph point to point, still makes noise. Any ideas?

A loud rattle in hydraulics is sometimes related to pump cavitation.

that's a possibility, have not checked that, but there are no hydraulic leaks. I'll let you know. Thanks

I checked the filter and found nothing out of order; and I tightened the hose connection (didn't need it), have plenty of fluid for the 3ph. Any other suggestions?

Did you remove a pressure hose and place in a bucket to see if the pump was pumping at the pump specified volume as in GPM?

Look for air bubbles in the hyd fluid stream.

If you have a hyd gage, what is the pressure reading?

Where is the filter you changed located?

Pump inlet or suction line
If pump inlet where you able to pre-fill the element before installing or is it horizontal?

If pump inlet, Are you 110% the seal or gasket was not damaged or compromised in any way?

Return line: This should not cause cavitation unless the seal is allowing air to be sucked in from fluid flow and aerating the reservoir.

I don't have a hydraulic gage, but I have one for water pressure on my pressure washer. Will that work?

If it is a 3000 psi gage you can use it.

The liquid-filled gauge resists vibration and lasts longer, dampens out the spikes of pressure.

I am going to try another new filter, then another site. You assumed too much with your spelling test! I know how to spell, I do have a college degree and I'll bet you understood what I was trying to convey to you, regardless of how the word (gauge) was spelled. I have been down many roads in my long life and continually run into people who are overly impressed with themselves. Which is more correct? Insullting or insulting?
