Toplink Hydraulic top link

Can someone post a picture of a hydraulic top link? I used a boxblade for the first time yesterday and was humbled. Need lots of practice and from what you guys say the hydraulic top link will make it a lot easier to master. Also, what will one of those bad boys cost? I don't have any rear outlets. Will one do the job?

Whew, Fullthrottle, there have been lots of pictures posted in the past, but I'll put one of mine on here again. Of course you have to have a valve, hoses, fittings, etc. I don't know what just the top link set up would cost, but for top link and one side link, I think you can expect to spend $800-$1,000.

The hydraulic top link will certainly make it a lot easier to adjust the top link without stopping and getting off the tractor to adjust it (or reaching over the seat). However, your comment that it will make it easier to master the boxblade, it may not happen. If you don't understand what you need to do to get out of the boxblade what you want, the hydraulic top link may just be more confusing and frustrating, thus more humbling, not less. Guess what I am trying to say, is that the hydraulic top link will not, by itself, fix a problem with the performance of the boxblade. Now when you say you need lots of practice, THAT will likely be the most rewarding to you and to your projects.

I was quoted $2150.00 for the complete setup including hoses and all fittings. This is a complete setup along with three valves mounted under the three slots on the right side of my tractor. Guess I should say that it would look like a factory setup and not added on. My tractor is a 3710 HST. Is this a good price and if not how does one go about knowing what size cylinders or valves, hoses to buy?? Any help appreciated!

could you post more details about the model/part number/fit you bought from eastern farm machinery? The price looks good, but I could only find one hydraulic top link in the search, and it was for a specific implement.

I went back to their site and found it under the bale shredder section. I couldn't remember the name as there is nothing on the cylinder. Mine looks different from the picture in that it's black and has numbers on it to tell you where the setting is. I use it on all my attachments as I find it easier to hook up. I already had a single set of remotes on my tractor so I didn't need the control valve.
PS I don't own a bale shredder.

Tinman: The 3 hydraulic valves for the Kubota 3710 alone cost about $1400 plus installation. I installed only 2 valves and cost about $1000. The one valve set-up is about $750. The kubota rear hydraulics work great and the overall appearance is clean and neat. (No extra valves to mount on the ROPS or fender and the connectors are neatly lined up.) The installation took about 3.5 hours and required removal of the right rear wheel and fender. The instruction booklet was marginal in my opinion. Local dealer wanted about $500 to install which I thought was crazy. I got lucky and bought a new Gannon T-N-T including hoses at a sale for $275 plus a pallet full of other kubota stuff. At the time I bought the 2 valve setup I thought the third valve was too much. Once in a while I wish I had a third valve but not often. I usually just disconnect the tilt cylinder when needed. I do have a set of quick-connects on the loader valve with a set of additional hoses that can then be used in the rare instances I might need a third valve. Your quoted price of $2150 is probably about right, if it includes installation it would be great. (The valves are the hard part of installation.)

Radman, any chance of a picture of the installation? I've got a 3710 as well, and was wondering what the installation would be like to do myself. Any special tools? Did the $1000 cover hoses and quick releases, etc.?

Joe: Sorry, dont have picture capability. The owner's manual shows the setup in it. The kubota hydraulic setup includes everything- hoses, quick releases, hydraulic levers, o-rings, holder for couplers ect. They even give you 4 male couplers for the attachment hoses. No special tools except need metric wrenches and socket set. Jack-up the rear of the tractor, remove right rear tire and fender, then follow enclosed instructions. I did use the wrong set of o-rings first and realized mistake when started attaching the female couplers. Instructions give no clue to determine which 0-rings to use where. Had to remove valve and rearrange o-rings. Tire is easy to remove if doesn't contain fluid. I would estimate 3-4 hrs time from tire off to tire back on. Since I did it once, I would probably take 2-3 hrs if tried again.

Radman et al, I paid about $1500 for top-n-tilt plus aux (three valve/controllers) Installed by the Kubota dealer. This was 3 months ago on a new L4610HSTC. Everything works fine, fits like it came that way from factory (same stuff installed by dealer) So far I haven't seen a need for another remote, but I sure get a lot of use out of the one I have. Initially there was a glitch in the install as the hydraulic line/fitting out the back of the remote connection farthest outboard from centerline was extremely difficult to use. The back side of it was too close to the tractor and did not give enough flex/motion to accomodate the quick connect action. They changed it to a different one under waranty and now it works perfectly.

Are my prices out of line with others's experiences? If I got a "hot deal" I'll have to thank the owner and his tech assistant (they were thte sales team).
