Crazy, If you are talking about using a double bladed grader like a Dura-Grader and not a box blade you may be worrying to much. Don't forget, the grader rides on two skid shoes which run outside of the blades. The bite is largely controlled by the depth of the blade below the skids. When you go over peaks and thru dips with a fixed top link you are more likely to dig less material bcause you can't keep the whole length of the grader flat on the surface so only one blade does the work in those places. I dont think that you will find it at all tricky to use. My wife can drag mine just fine.
I would just get or build the grader then use it and solve the problems when and if they arise.

I'm going to make a dual blade grader. I'm going to make the blades fixed and the skids adjustable. I'm thinking of having 0 to 1 1/2" worth of adjustment. It's not the small bumps, I figure that's where the grader will excel but the transitions between the steeper parts of the driveway and the flat sections. Since I'm making it I can beef it up with thicker than factory steel and get some extra weight.
