I have an older Stanley CS07 hydraulic chainsaw, and I have run it off my
Kioti tractor, even tho this older saw has closed-center hydraulics. The
speed was good, since the reqd flow rate is compatible, but the max
recommended pressure is 2000psi.
That pressure limitation is true of many other hyd chainsaws and other tools, too.
BTW, I also have a new Fairmont hyd c/s and Reliable hyd pole c/s here. Both
run at 7-9 GPM and 2000psi max as well. They are switchable between open
and closed-center hydraulics, which is great. I suspect that older hyd power
supplies ran closed-center, mostly, and open-center is now more common.
Hence the backward compatibility of these new saws.
I am waiting for some 2000psi cross-over relief valves that I have on order,
before I test the latter 2 saws.
IMO, a tractor is an awesome portable hydraulic power supply.
