I've got a 3 year old JD 3520 with front loader. It seems to be a good machine, but it seems like ever so often, I blow out a power steering line near the right front tire.
It seems excessive to me, as I have replaced it 4 times.
Do I have too much pressure?
Should I replace the filter?
It breaks in the elbow of a metal piece that is "L" shaped. They all can't be defective, can they?

Sure would appreciate some advice.

No, not likely. What is your dealer saying about it?
Pics?

If it was over pressure you would have random failures. Is the line rubbing on anything:confused: or is it under tension. Seems when it fails at the same place each time that there is another factor in play.

If the steel elbow is breaking it sounds like a tension issue. Can you see this hose when you are operating the tractor? If you get some place where you can turn the wheels full lock both ways and watch the hose. Does it look like it is being pulled or twisted?

Now well driving over rough uneven ground do the same thing. If you find a spot when it seems tight can the hose angle or fittings be adjusted slightly to remove this strain?

NOTE: Remember the hose will shrink in length as the pressure increases.

had a 3320 that did that when chains were on they would catch the line. that was with the wheels turned in. Turn them out and no problems...

You hafta be having something hit it either the axle pivoting or tire hitting.
