Hello,
I had a hydraulic line break in my Mahindra 3716 backhoe. I was able to get a hose made locally but to get the right fittings they had to go up to the next size hose. The original hose was a 1/4 and the one they made was a 3/8. Is this going to be a problem? I noticed the hoses coming from the tractor to the backhoe controls are 3/8 and then are 1/4 going to the cylinders. I just want to make sure it won't hurt my cylinder to run the new 3/8 hose to it.
I'm a novice when it comes to repairs, so I'd appreciate the advice.
Thanks in advance!

upsizing the hose won't hurt the cyl... may make it harder to run the line.. thru small areas.. etc. but the line size won't hurt the cyl. the bottlneck will be the smallest line ID in the system, and / or any more restrictive valves or orifices..e tc.

if it is a area that needs movement. allow for a liberal mild bend/arc in the hose..e tc.

Thanks Soundguy!
It was a bit of a pain to get the hose run, but I was able to do it. I took pictures before I removed the old hose, so I have reference points to set my mild bend/arc back to how it was originally.
Thanks again!
