hydraulic fluid

okay dumb question here

. I have had my 2320 for almost a year now and can not figure out how to check the hydraulic fluid level. None of the manuals I have for the 2320 shows me how to do this. I know this has to be pretty straight forward....... but I am asking..... because I don't know...

Also, my FEL sticks now when I am dumping heavy loads. The loader bucket tips over to a point, then sticks for a few seconds, then continues...... I thought maybe it needs a top up on hydraulic fluid..... and that led to the question in the above post.

all i know is that with my 4720 the trans and hydro dip stick are the same - check it and you check both. hope this helps

IIRC, there's a "Oil Level Eye" in the rear a few inches high to the left of the PTO shaft.......

it should read in the middle of the eye with all cylinders retracted

my old JD870 had this sticking problem your discussing. it never went away. wasnt a big deal. had nothing to do with level of fluid.

as wdchyd pointed out, there is a sight glass near the rear PTO. I never saw any bubble in my window so I decided to add some fluid. It was almost 3 quarts low, and I feel it came this way from the dealer when I took delivery last may. I never had any issues but its good to know now that its at the proper level.
