I had a hyd. oil filter failure on FX model, I was using the wix 7401 for 5 years. Then whamo I had 2 of them fail on an Fx24. The loader wont even go up, then when I put the old yanmar filter on it works.

What hydraulic filter do you use on your FX models /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

How does the filter fail? Does it burst?

Ernie,

Napa 1229, Wix 51229, Fram P7061, or Baldwin BT371-MPG are the numbers I have, although we have used the Baldwin exclusively for the last 3 years.

If your filter is clogging, maybe it isn't failing, just doing it's job? Of course if there was that much crud in the system you would surely know it.

Let us know what you figure out, your opinion and experience is valued.

I use a wix 51205. It is wire mesh, not paper like the 51229 and 7401. It crosses to the CAPA filters that come on the tractors from Japan.
