Greetings,

Does anyone have the specs on the hydraulic cylinders for the front mount angle kit (590-623-100) for the 5000 / 6000 / 7000 series Cub? Nothing is available thru the dealers and on the usual Ebay, Craigslist. I tried matching up the fixed link to available cylinders from several suppliers, but nothing is intuitively correct. So if you have diameter x stroke, and any other specs - greatly appreciated. I can work on the rest.

Tom

If no one else responds I can get you the measurements in 3 weeks, when I get back home. I've got an angling kit on my 5234. I would think there should be some aftermarket cylinders that would fit?

Just double checking, are you sure on the 3/4" bore? That seems kind of small compared to most cylinders I've seen for this use. Maybe because there's 2 of them instead of 1.

Sorry for the delayed response gents, been up to my ___ in projects.
Yes, the bore is 3/4".
The extended length is ~ 21", and the fully closed length is ~ 14".

Hope this helps!

Scout, Thanks for the further information. I have been looking at a 1 1/2 x 6" stroke from Surplus Center and the dimension are about 1" shorter. But nothing else is even close. Guess I'll keep looking. I would hate to have a custom one (2) made up. --- Tom

Cub --- Have you found a source for a matching cylinder?

Thanks ----- Tom

Those measurements were from center eyehole to center eyehole, not total length....hope I didn't confuse anyone.

Yes, Here's what I ordered from surpluscenter.com

I measured the hole to hole length of my lift and its close to 18". These cylinders have a 14" closed length with a 8" rod length. That means that when the cylinder extended halfway it will be right at 18". The diameter of the rod isn't quite what he spec'd but I couldn't find anything closer with swivel ends. This is everything needed for an angle kit. Cost is less than just one hyd cylinder from Cub.

Cub,

Bear in mind that I haven't installed this yet so it's not a tested set up. The only thing I need is the bolts and spacers. I am not sure of the quick connect couplers. They look correct but I won't know until I get them. They were only $14 so its worth the chance.

Got my order today and noticed an error right off. This item:

"920-2218 1/4" X 18" JIC 4F X JIC 4F 5000 PSI HYD H 14.98"

should have been a JIC 6F X JIC 6F . When I reordered I also only ordered a 12" length which is plenty. Test fitting looks okay but I won't be able to assemble it until the weekend.

Cub, Keep that info coming!! I return home at end of next week and plan on measuring and ordering up the parts then. We've already had our first snow and I need to be ready. How did you address the 1/2" cylinder swivel holes and 5/8" pins on the mount? -- Tom

I haven't mounted it up to the lift yet so I'll have to see. If the hole is for a 5/8" pin I might have to sleeve a 1/2" pin or worst case would be to weld new plate and drill a new hole to fit 1/2". Either way its not a problem. Right now I'm elbow deep into a 5234 transmission rebuild.
