I went to go plow my driveway yesterday with the BX and I noticed that when I went to push the pedal forward, it would only go down about an inch and it stopped then I pushed reverse and it didn't move, I stomped on the forward pedal again and then it worked the way that it was supposed to. That kept happening throughout the night and it eventually started to work the way that it is supposed to but i was so pissed to have the pedal acting up the way that it did. I'm gonna be using it this afternoon so I will post again tonight and tell if it does it again.

Check to make sure nothing is stuck in the linkage.

That does sound like some kind of obstruction, but there is also a grease fitting there that might need some attention.

I think so too, that grease fitting has never been greased and there is about 190 hours on the tractor. I think another part of the problem is that the tractor is outside 24/7 under a tarp in the winter so i think that might contribute to that problem as well.

Assume that you are clearing snow....wouldn't by chance be getting snow crammed up there in the linkage??

Not only should you be greasing that often, but I'd also suggest looking over the linkages attached to the treadle (there are several) and shoot some lube where it's needed. The treadle linkage has connections to brake and cruise control linkages on some models, as well as a damper. Lots of places that it can hang up. But the main pin with a fitting is very important to grease (hence the fitting).

Here's a pic of where they hide the grease fitting for my BX-25 pedal.

Yesterday afternoon when I got home from school I asked my dad if the HST pedal was acting up the other night because he used the tractor yesterday before I got home from school. He said that it wasn't acting up when he used it.
