Check your breather tube. On the Grand L's it is in the filler cap. That may well be plugged causing your double dip problem as it is not lettig off pressure as needed.

This happens with my B3300, nothing on the stick then you put back in then it registers. I thought it had lost all my fluid first time I checked it.

I'm a double dipper, hot or cold.
Me too. Learned that when I was about 6 years old. Didn't know why then but it's been habit ever since. A vacuum or slosh can give you a false reading. Wipe and check is what my dad said. And look and smell your rag after wiping. Still not sure what the rag tells me but I do it out of respect for my father.

The case gets pressurized and compresses the oil so the level appears lower until you pull the stick.

wrooster... funny. For those in the know or even care about the semantics here, hydraulic fluid is generally not compressible. If it was, the cylinder would not be very efficient in transferring power. I am pretty sure Namesray is not trying to redefine fluid dynamics science! :laughing:
