Try the left side of the instrutment housing. Mine has a sticker with the model. After the model number is a -x to show revision.
No such sticker on mine. You would think the model/serial # plate would show but I can find nothing that refers to the series. Does anyone know the difference between a 2 and 3.:confused2:
check your purchase info my L5740 said -1 on the dealers invoice and some sticker I tossed. The only thing I have found is -3 have swivel seats and a pto knob.
I just got the -1 owners manual and I have the -3 too so I will read them both and let you know.

Thanks for the reply's. The reason I need to know is I want to order the third function valve and there is a difference between the 2 and 3 so I need to know. One mechanic told me the 2 and 3 designated the emissions tier but I don't even know that.:confused2::confused2:
OK I found the sticker, it was pulled off the tractor and put in the owners manual I guess so it would not get lost. The kicker is it has a -1 after the model and I know it is no older than a '09. Can this be explained?
OK so I found that the engine was made in July of '09 so I assume the tractor was assembled after that That make the tractor either a '09 or '10. The dealer told me it was a '10 so does that make it a series 3 or what??

Swivel seat, pto knob, valve lock, and a TE3 engine designation(external EGR) = -3
valve lock is a change the hole thing not a lever.
loader installation manual has all the instructions for the third valve install could be there you will see the differences
