Working on athletic fields all week. Man, that factory cab is sweet, it looked like a ton of money on paper, its worth every dime. Running at about 1200 rpm, pulling a woods pl60 core aerator, nice and quiet, listening to the radio, hearing who the patriots lost today, bittersweet! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Congrats on the Cab, King, but if our Pats keep losing stars, you may not want to be able to listen to the radio. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Are you going to keep it on in the summer and put in a/c? Keep going in that direction and it's gonna be just like an office job. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It will not take long for him to tell you he already has a/c! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Now that you've stolen his thunder, Ron, maybe he'll just let you speak for him. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Personally, I kind of like being "outside" even in the Winter. But then, again, my wife and I do technical ice climbing in the Winter and alpine mountaineering in the summer and I promise you that belaying someone climbing a frozen waterfall is MUCH colder than running my tractor/snowblower. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif "each to his own"

I kind of like the open air also. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif But that may be because I do not have one them there Climate Controlled Cabs. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I have stated in many a thread around here, that i would never buy a tractor without a cab, however, now that i have my factory cab, i would love to have an open B7610 with 352 fel. If i hit the lottery & had tons of money i would buy a restored 1969 case traction king!

I'm afraid that if I had a B3030 w/a climate controlled cab that I'd start mowing, & mowing & mowing & mowing......... Kinda like the Everready bunny /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm lucky in that I do enjoy mowing out in the wide open but that may be because I haven't tried it in a conditioned cab w/jams yet /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Perhaps I shouldn't read such reports anymore /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The only time I've wished for a cab is when it's zero out and the wind is blowing hard. Then I am jealous.

Other than that I work in a factory so I enjoy the great outdoors.

It's a free country, King; more power to you.

If I hit the lottery and had tons of money, the IRS, State DOR, Town of Randolph and an endless succession of "worthy causes" would file claims to most of it and I still wouldn't have enough to buy a second tractor with a cab. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you put in the seat time i do, you would want the cab. My last tractor had a curtis cab. I had it installed after getting caught in a torrential downpour working on a complex of 6 athletic fields, i lost my cell phone and most of the contents of my wallet! I now have protection from the sun, the heat, the cold and drift if i am boom spraying. Its great to be out in the open on a tractor for sure, but after 2 decades of open station, its nice to have the comfort of the cabin.

You are right, cab is too nice. Heat/AC, and no dust/dirt. There are a few days the thought chirping birds and spring breeze enters my mind… then I remember it’s only quiet because (I’m in my cab), and I adjust the volume of the CD player, give the seat recline an adjustment, and keep mowing…
Those old Case tractors sure could pull /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif… Had a few lifetimes plowing with a ComfortKing in the early seventies. Nice memories… but now Kubota Cab is King /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif… KennyV.

You know, you're right King; I hadn't thought of the difference. If the weather stinks, I generally have the option of waiting for a better day, except for snowblowing, of course.

Moreover, I don't see much chance of my annual seat time ever going above 300 hrs/yr --at least not until I retire, which ain't gonna happen for at least another 10 years. --still havin' too much fun. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
