I did extensive research on this when I built my ballast box. I kept adding weight till the machine stayed planted doing max loader work. I ended up with 750 lbs to keep it planted well even on uneven ground. Not saying you cant get away with a little less for lighter work. But that is what it takes to keep it planted nicely and be safe doing whatever.

Was the 750 lbs on a ballast box or did you have something attached further back on the 3pt?
Rkidd, what sort of ballast box do you have? I'm asking because I know I'm going to be getting a b2650 and in the planning stages for items I'll need to go along with it...thanks.
I have 1550# of Rimguard in my rear tires and a Rhino 950 rear blade at 1050# on the three point. I can lift 2850# - I've carefully lifted 3100# but the grapple left drag marks in the dirt - I kept that load(large chunk of my Ponderosa pine) lower than a snakes belly. I have internet data that allowed me to develop two weight charts - one for large rocks and the other for large chunks of Ponderosa pine. Basically those are the only two items I lift that will approach the max capacity of the tractor. By simple measurement and reference to either weight chart - I've got a fairly accurate estimate of what the load will be.
