How much Quikcrete?

My wife and I were looking at a poured concrete birdbath mold at a home show and had a question the salesman wasn't able (or willing) to answer. There's nothing like a salesman who knows his product!

We asked how many bags of quikcrete were required to make one birdbath, the salesman "didn't know" but thought maybe 1 or 2 80# bags.

Does anyone know what the approximate yield in cubic feet is from 1 80# bag of quikcrete?

I just poured a couple of 3'x3'x4" slabs and it took exactly five 80 Lb bags for each. If I did the math right that equals 0.6 cubic feet per bag.

According to Quikcrete.com, an 80# bag yields approx 2/3 cu.ft. 60# - 1/2 cu.ft. and 40# - 1/3 cu.ft.

You're exactly right on the math. Each slab would be 3 cubic feet exactly.

So, more accurately, one 80# bag would be 3/5 a cubic foot.
