could be they changed the pan (or whole engine) design part way through the model year.

and plenty of people only pull 1 plug. If you expect to see 1 plug, you don't keep on looking after you find 1, but I think I've always got them both.

Ok thanks for replying to us, Well I don't have a good explanation then for why the difference in qty's of oil.. Unless the manual is wrong. I know that my new Kioti manual is wrong on several things, for it contradicts itself in several places. And the service manual and owners manual have some discrepancies.

Are all Kubota dip sticks the same?
Maybe the stick or the tube is the wrong one?

I ask that same question bill, and was assured that that wasn't possible !!
how they know this for sure i don't know.
I have sent the Kubota corp. an email with these questions but have not
received an answer as of this date, 5/16/12.
