How much does it cost to build a pole barn and what kind is best..

I had a 28x36 metal garage with 2 10x9 doors and concrete floor last yr for 17,000 Cardinal carports.

the earlier pic of the flat roof structure would blow down or be crushed by snow here. ha.
65 psi snow and 150 wind is the building i'm getting in the next month or so, but at 10x the cost some of you are doing this for. fully enclosed/insulated/doors etc.

But how do you support it in the middle with no poles??

Use metal I beams front and rear to support . I looked at building a 15×46 loaf shed this way. I ended up buying a 15x30 Eagle prefab 2yrs ago. They installed it in 4hrs. Material and labor $4600. This yr im building a wood structure for more room. Wood mill needs open floor area...

I am big on metal posts and purlins, and there is company here in California called Metroll that makes the purlins and the roofing, I just put up an open sided metal building that is 27x52 and my cost was roughly $5K for the roofing and the 10 inch galvanized purlins, I have 24 foot clear one way and posts on 12 foot centers the other way, with an 18 inchish overhang. where I live that holds up pretty well. the 4x4 galvanized posts I used set me back about $150 each, so for 8 it was about $1200. I dont worry about snow load here, just wind, and i highly recommend you add the edge trim(which I have not yet) as it adds quite a bit of strength. The labor to put it up and concrete cost me almost as much as the materials, which was a bit shocking, but I got a couple of quotes and it has really gone up recently.

I bought a Menard's package for a 30 x 45 post barn with steel siding and roof. It was about $3500 if I remember right. About 3 years later, I am still digging 6 foot deep post holes and have 5 posts and 1 truss up. I should have cleared the site before buying.
