Looks like the 4500 is in decent shape . . .
I have 3 tractors 2004 NHTZ24da with loader and belly mower deck for sale. Also a 2008 NHTZ25da with a front mount plow and belly mower. And the last one is a 2013 NHBOMMER24 with loader , belly mower and front mount snow blower. Looking for a used cab for the last tractor.

I Have a 30hp kubota a 47 hp massey with a loader, a 240 skid steer and a case 480e backhoe. I could get by with the massy but the little one is handy for getting in small areas and the trans is a 8 speed which is nice to have all the speed options. Plus it is easy to put 1 implement on 1 tractor if you use it a lot and keep it on. The backhoe is nice to have for bigger jobs

If I count the one in the attached picture, then I probably have about 3/4 total, although I like to think it's 2 ;)

I have a total of (5): 43 hp JD 4120 with loader, 28 hp Ford 8n, 10 hp Farmall Cub, 15 hp JD LT-155 lawn/garden tractor, and 15 hp Poulan lawn tractor.

I could probably get by with just the two JD’s, but it’s very nice having the “extras”. The Farmall Cub was my latest addition. I had one before, but sold it when I lost some barn storage space (I don’t store any of my tractors outside).

I really missed it for light snow plowing (I use the JD 4120 for the heavy stuff). As soon as I got a new pole barn, I picked up another Cub.

There is no modern tractor that I’d rather have on my two bottom plow, two-row corn planter, or 3-point carryall, than my 1951 Ford 8n. That thing is a real pleasure to use with those tools.

I was worried about how it would plow, after the original furrow-side rear rim rusted thru from calcium solution and I replaced it with a new rim and unloaded rear. It actually plows much better that way, because traction is better on the furrow side and it no longer pulls the opposite way, like it did when both rears were loaded.

I usually leave the my 5 ft medium duty bush-hog on the JD 4120 all year except for the winter when the rear plow replaces it. The Ford 8n can just barely handle that bush-hog, if need be, but it certainly does not excel at any pto tasks.

The Ford 8n, being a lot lighter, is much easier to hitch/unhitch from any 3 point implement, than my JD 4120, so it gets most of the non-bushhogging tasks.

Finally, having the two lawn/mower tractors is very nice. The JD is hydrostatic and does most of the cutting, but when the grass is real thick or high, the gear/trans Poulan works better. Also, I pull the mower deck off the JD early in the fall, to give more clearance with my leaf sweeper. It’s nice having the Poulan in reserve then, to the handle the late cuts.

I've always ended up with 4. 4 when farming 500 ac and now 4 for retirement farming. Tn55 NH, DK45HSTC Kioti, CS2410 Kioti, still have the Allis WD45 that I've been driving for 68 years.

Howdy from Colorado! This is a great topic! We have a survived on our 40 acre farm/ equine operation -boarding facility for five years with one compact tractor. We have a Montana R3644 with FEL front and rear remotes and add a soft cab in winter. It maintains our arena/ cleans pens / stacks and unstacks the (85) 3x4 bales we feed.
It also doubled as our pasture mower (in addition to all the four legged hay burners that graze). We used to do everything with that dependable Montana tractor and then picked up a Kubota RTV-1100 with an enclosed cab - heat and AC etc. Wow I didn’t know what I was missing! Then we realized having the right equipment make living this lifestyle so much more enjoyable… we started searching for a second tractor about 2 years ago. As luck would have it we received a 1959 Case 210b with FEL that had been restored by my wife’s dad as an amazing gift. He grew up in the farm equipment business and has always encouraged us to expand our equipment. He helped us find that Montana, numerous implements / he helps make repairs, patiently helps us and always shows us how to work smarter! At first the 1959 Case was a fun piece of nostalgia — a JIC tractor. [quick side note: interestingly enough this exact unit was sold and serviced by my wife’s dad at his father’s tractor dealership in 1959 in WI and he found the old girl when he was visiting Northern WI and ran into the farmer’s son he knew some 60 years earlier-they got to talking and he discovered that the Case he remembered from so many years ago was still on that farm — he picked it up and brought her back to life]. Well, that doggone Case has become a life saver on so many occasions I couldn’t count - be it subbing in when the Montana is down or on other projects, adding downward pressure when digging fence post holes, helping clear 6’ snow drifts on our and our neighbor’s farm lane - or stacking bales 4 high (because the 9’ of load reach is just too tall for our Montana’s lift). I’m here to tell you that we are now looking to add a skid steer and a third tractor to our fleet (but this time with a full cab, heat & ac and more HP). If you would have told me I needed this many tractors ten years ago I wouldn’t have ever believed you.

I went from three to two last year. A Mahindra 4555 cab (55hp, cat 1/2-3ph) and a TYM T1104 cab (110hp, cat 3). Both of these are setup for different things (lesser or greater hp/3ph requirements). Last year I sold a Kabota L3800 (38hp, Cat 1) open frame. The Kubota "Was" only used in the wooded areas to save the cabs.

I have a Branson 4520R which is used for FEL work, blading the drive, filling garden beds, landscape raking and chipping branches. My Kubota BX2380 is mainly used for carrying the fuel cell and anything that needs to be hauled on a carry-all on the three point. The carry-all is usually loaded with concrete blocks to balance out the fuel cell weight. I also have a track loader/skid steer, a mini-excavator and a side-by-side I mostly use as a mini-dump truck.

I have more equipment than I need for the tasks that I do but it's good to have the right tool for the job.

Based on observation of myself, not necessarily a deliberately and consciously chosen principle, it seems that I have a belief that anything worth owning is worth having more than one of. My wife and I realized at one point that the number of things we have multiples of felt a bit ridiculous. Mostly simple tools, mind you, but it happens more often than not that if someone asks something like, "Do you have a chainsaw?" my answer is, "Well, yeah, I have four of them." Or, "Do you have a backhoe?" "Why, I have two of them, of course."

For years, I just had one tractor with a loader, and when it was down, I had to get creative when it was time to feed a round bale. Most common reason for that tractor to be down was a blown hose, but it could be anything, and it usually takes me a week to get the old part off, go to town to buy the new part, and then get it back together.

Now I have three loaders and it's so much nicer when something breaks down. I might have to drag a batwing behind me when getting that round bale, but that's a lot better then hooking up a hay spear to the 3 point hitch and not being able to put the bale in the cradle. They go through the bale twice as fast if it's on the ground without a ring around it.

Branson 3120 which I bought new in 2011. Has FEL. Bought a CASE IH Farmall 50A new in 2016. No FEL. Use the CASE for brush hogging 11 acres of pasture and several acres of pines; as well as pulling a 'Bush-N-Bog' (aka New Ground) disc set. Use the Branson for most other things including pulling a 5 foot brush hog thru some of the closer planted pines; also for moving large round bales. For what it's worth, I also have a 1952 Farmall Cub 'yard ornament'.

I know that drill, I spent enough time rolling a 4x5 bale into a pickup with BX2200 and rolling back off at the cattle. Still better than hauling small loads in a yard trailer and an ATV.

For years, I just had one tractor with a loader,

This was me. Then my trusty old John Deere lost an engine - antifreeze drained into the crankcase. I called around to several dealers and was told it would be anywhere from $15,000 to $20,000 for a rebuilt engine - or to have them rebuild mine. This for a tractor I'd paid only $7,000 for. Not going to happen!

So I began my search for another tractor and lucked out, finding a Kubota M7060 with barely any hours on it and the price was right so I bought it.

Wouldn't you know it...a few months later I found out that a guy I used to work with collected old tractors and restored them. I contacted him. For $3000 he rebuilt the whole engine in the John Deere plus did a few other things this 60 year old tractor needed. That was over 5 years ago and I've been using both tractors and wondering how I ever got by with only one!

I run into that more and more… both the convenience of multiple tractors and also the discrepancy in the cost of repairs… somebody must be spending 15-20k but no body I know…

A couple that tractors 🚜 together , stays together.

All 8 tractors are functional if you consider functional less than 8 hours of work. If not, 4 are functional.

Why would anyone have just one? What would you do if it got stuck in a swamp and needed to be pulled out?

Good point. That's when it helps if you have friends.

Recently, I have been a little more daring and got hung up a few times. Fortunately, I was able to use my Jeep Trailhawk to tug it out.
