I find the term 'Solar Farm' to be laughable. The solar advocates use the term to make it sound more agricultural and acceptable when, in fact, none of them are farms. They are all industrial installations that take productive farmland out of production. Nothing more.
I'm more concerned with eating than having a solar installation gobbling up viable cropland. To that end, I'm totally opposed to them.
read an article about how some solar operators are considering growing crops in the 'dead space' between panel arrays. Sure like to know what crops can be gown in that limited space. Maybe Cannibis? Certainly not row crops. Not enough room to fit, plant or harvest anything that I know of.
If the sun don't shine or the wind don't blow, none of those installations produce any viable power. It's all phooey in my view.
