I have 20 acres of vacant land surrounded by cornfields. While the animals are out in the cornfields browsing, they live in my woods. Cornfield is like a grocery store.Ok I thought the comparison was being made as to vacant land with weeds abandoned by farmers? That is very rich in wildlife.
As a farmer you’d be shocked as to how much wildlife I see in farm fields. Deer, fox, eagles, hawks, pheasant, turkey, you name it.
I know what I’d rather have in my neighborhood.….
You want the solar panels??? you go ahead…..I’ll take the crops.
Heck people plant corn here just to attract deer
Hayfield, on the other hand, attracts a lot of nests and nesting activity, fawns hiding near the wood edges, etc. Do you keep any wildlife easements, set asides? I have a friend that does hay, and he has those along streams, slopes, etc. He frequently sends me pictures of animals he sees while farming.
