How Does This Hood Emblem Attach?

Received this replacement from Messicks for the missing hood emblem on my New Holland TC25DA. What kind of fastener is normally used with this type of pin? The plastic pins are 5/32" (4mm) in diameter and about 1/2" in length and they appear to be split as seen in the photo. The factory fastening method was apparently unsatisfactory.
All suggestions appreciated.

That little bar that is at the top of the pins looks like it is designed to be pressed down to spread the pins after installing. That might be a secondary hold down after using the star lock washers.

I thought that looked like a type of spreader also. Maybe a small pin punch will work. Will pick up some of the push on retainers at local hardware.

I think i would ad a dollop of silicone to act a little like plumbers putty in sinks and faucets. It may keep it from vibrating loose again.
