How do highway departments do this?

/ How do highway departments do this? #41
I mowed for a state DOT for 11 years before I was promoted to supervisor and didn't get to mow anymore. I pulled a 15' batwing most of that time, it was either a 884 International or a 6610 Ford. Both tractors were not modified and the tires were NOT loaded. The 884 wheels were out as far as possible without causing interference with the tongue if the mower in sharp turns. The key is to go slow, use the steering brake to keep her pointed up the slope and watch for washouts that you could fall in. Usually the tractor will slide before they roll. The weight of the mower on the tongue keeps them pinned down pretty good
