That looks like a new version of my model.
Won't be new very long...lol

Went on a search for single row potato harvesters. I see a couple places besides Titan have them and in stock, same one that Titan offers (which is an Itallian import btw), plus there are a number of used ones for sale.

The problem is in the planting. lay the potatoes on top of the ground and then mulch very heavily with straw and keep adding. By harvest time you have 6" mat of straw that the rain has packed down but lets the air in somewhat. Remove the mulch and the potatoes lay on top of the ground. Now you have an easy pick-up with some partially rotted mulch ready to build the soil for next year. The only problem with this method that I know of is the wind - it likes to remove light mulch like straw.

I walk a couple of miles most days. I pass several very large fields that alternate between corn and soy beans from year to year. It's all field corn, no sweet corn. In past years, I noticed that most of the corn I could see only had two ears. This year, many stalks only have one.

With the costs involved of machinery and everything else, how can they make money like that? Seems like an awful lot of work for one or two ears per stalk.

They are getting higher yields with the new genetics of one ear per stalk - one very nice ear. But they have also increased plant populations. I am not sure this isn't Monsanto at it again because higher plant populations means more seed corn at up to $500/bu.

Great channel if you want to learn a thing or two about rebuilding engines. Specially the machining aspect of hit. Father and son shop with loads of knowledge. I really enjoy their videos.
