I am conducting a potentially expensive experiment on my BR660 Stihl leaf blower. I am running a lean mix 50+:1 Stihl full synthetic mix in a combination of 1 gallon of 50% 93 octane unleaded fuel and 50% Sunoco Max 116 leaded racing fuel. Despite my thoughts that the blower would, well, blow; it to this point has not. It runs really well. I can tell the throttle response is much better and it is much easier to start when cold now. It also has a smell that I find very enjoyable. So far, it has gotten more time per tank blower, seems to have a bit more punch with the throttle and does not smoke (running mix lean). I am not advocating this as mine could die tomorrow from this questionable practice, but after 20 hours of blowing, no issues to this point.

Huh. Who'd thunk it. Guess I never thought of running race fuel in a small engine before. It makes sense though. I mean think about what race fuel does on the larger scale. I'm game. Keep us posted. Good luck.
