I have a BG86. They are a solid unit, I’ve had mine for over 10 years. They are very popular. The only trick is to keep the spark arrestor clean. When I use mine it’s normally a half hour for less. If you need to use one a long time I’d get a backpack blower.

We have the BR 800 C-E MAGNUM Stihl for over a year now. This model you start while wearing it and most controls are in the right pistol grip. This tool rocks and a review of it is below. Used it today clearing a parking lot.

I have an Echo backpack blower. Don’t remember the model number but it’s been very reliable for about 15 years or so now. It was the biggest available at the time. Just for my use around the house, I don’t use it commercially or anything.

I also bought a smaller Echo handheld gas blower a few years ago. I didn’t get the cheapest one, but it’s that size. I asked the salesman what does the extra 50 or 75 dollars get me over the cheap one. He said a better engine with 2 piston rings instead of one on the cheap model. And a handle on the bottom. I use that more than I thought I would.

For smaller jobs like blowing off the mowers or garage I use a Dewalt 20v cordless blower.
For any bigger jobs like leaf blowing I use my Echo PB-580T backpack blower

I'll mention ..... Hitachi and Tanaka ( same blower ) made the very best hand held blower you could get and for some reason they just stopped making them for the USA. I was lucky and got three of them ... one for each barn where equipment is stored. They were bought out by Metabo and the RB24eap model was dropped.
Now we have seven 2cycle and one M18 Milwaukee along with a BR600 Stihl backpack.
I just bought a Poulan Pro at Tractor Supply for $127. and it is a strong machine. We use it strickly as a vacuum for Locust leaves but it is a superior blower for the money.

Couple things I've found out here. Only ONE leafy tree on all my 80 acres. So...just go with the flow and let the leaves stay where they fall.

However - The lawns do get covered with Ponderosa pine needles. My son's battery blower is a "no win" solution. I use my JD belly mower to move the needles into rows. Those needles that don't get chewed to tiny pieces - I rake up and cart off.

The leaf residue under the one tree must be beneficial. It's one spot where the grass grows the best.

I do remove the pine needles. The soil is already acid enough and pine needles don't help this.

I don't need a leaf blower for the yard, I just mow everything and let it sit. We needed one for our back porch, so my wife bought a Sun Joe corded leaf blower from Amazon for $24 I thought she was crazy, but it was cheap enough to not stress over it. I've been amazed at how good it is!!!

It just takes a second to connect it to a cord and since it's just on the porch, the cord isn't in the way. No charging batteries, no filling it with fuel, just plug it in and clean off the porch. Everything is done in just a couple minutes!!!

I've stolen it a few times for jobs that I'm working on, and now we have two of them. One is in the shop, and the other hangs from a screw on the wall on the porch.

The price has gone up a couple bucks, but I think she bought it on sale, or maybe the price just goes up and down? Amazon is kind of odd with pricing, and how it changes so often.

It doesn't get any cheaper or easier then this.

You guys using blowers in shops, barn & out buildings. Check to see if Hantavirus is prevalent in your location. If so - be certain to wear an appropriate biologic air mask. This virus is nothing to be fooling with.

Oosik, Interesting point - never thought about that but appears by this map that its mostly in the western states - the east coast states have only a few cases up through 2022 - and NH for instance had 1
