hose replacement

HI guys. I have a small tractor that has a 4gpm pump. It has a bushhog loader on it. The hydraulic lines before the loader control valve are 3/8" and after are 1/4". The lines are all hose. Id like to replace the 1st 4 lines out of the control which varie in length to 3/8". The fittings on the valve are 3/8 jic X ORB 90 elbow. What will this do to the system. The reason is i moved the valve farther ahead is so i could get in and out either side. And my local farm store dont stock much 1/4 hose. Thanks for the help

Your post is a little hard to read without any punctuation...actually it's very hard.

I think you want to replace 1/4" hose with 3/8" hose? If that is the case, then nothing will happen, but they will cost more. Have you thought of making your own? Check this out: Re-Usable Hydraulic Hose Fitting Tutorial - TractorByNet.com

No, you MUST use new hose. The fittings must match the hose properly. Yes, they hold up very well.

Those Reusables Are They Made Out Of Gold ? or Am I Looking In The Right Spot.

Yes, they cost, but the saving over having a hose made and being able to make you own to the exact length you need makes it worth it to some-including myself. I was just trying to give you options.

Sometimes the premade hose is alot cheaper to purchase off the self at TSC. My hoses on the loader have lasted 20 years and are exposed to weather year round. The reusable work well -but when only changing hoses every 20 years are they cost effective?

Maybe not, but "off the shelf" hoses often are not the correct size/length, or don't have the proper fittings on them. Like I wrote, I was just giving options-not pushing him in that direction.

Thanks for the advice. If I Was To Go Ahead With Replacing Hoses. Would Going With 3/8" Hose Be Ok. Are There Any Advantages or Disadvantages In Upsizing The Hoses or Troubles? @ lengths Will Be 21" 28" 48" And 60"
