Well I apologize to you Tom, I should have replied more politely to your views.
You have every right to voice your opinions on this thread or any other. I don't have the right to post such a response as i did. I apologize for that.

Egads, can we just find out what the heck we need to put a horn on a B3030 in this thread already. I thought there was a discussion group for safety.

I'm being a non-tolerant pain in the tushy.

I have some pretty good news about a Horn for the B3030. The "On the Road" Teck Rep from Kubota recently contacted me concerning the install of a Factory Type horn on the B3030. In fact, he called again this evening and is looking into how it can be installed using the B26 Composite Light Switch, which is the same type on the B3030, less the functional horn button.

He said that it would be powered through a 20 Amp Fuze, no Horn relay required. He seems to think it has, or has the wire in the harness, just like the overseas models do. In fact he is having Kubota send the wiring harness to him so he can test it, and will get back to me in a couple of days.

On your ROPS B3030, -vs- the CAB B3030, if you look in your owner's manual towards the back, it shows the two different fuze boxes. I had asked the Rep that you could grab power through [I believe it's called the maintenance light circuit -which has a 20 Amp link], he said he will look into how we can best install the Horn Circuit to Standard, keeping that in mind.

So, I will keep you all posted, and provide the exact details and required parts as soon as I get them from this gentleman. Hopefully, he will be successful, as he did sound pretty positive we can can make this thing work.

Best Regards - Bruce!

Great work, Mr. Persistence! :D

Keep us posted. If I end up with the B3030, that horn is getting installed pronto.

Update from Kubota Field Rep on B3030 Horn!

Sorry it is taking so long to secure a remedy for a Horn Kit for your B3030's. Anyway, the gentleman from Kubota called me again this week. He is in fact working on the parts list and the wiring, as well as proper installation.

He said he compared the wiring harness out of the new B26, composite light switch and so on. He is almost certain he will come up with the modification to install an almost factory type horn assembly.

When you have time, raise your hood on the B3030, and look just in back of the headlight assembly on the hood. You will see a bracket for the horn welded in place already.

I really think they have/had future intensions to add a horn kit as an option - almost like car manufactures do.

But truly feel this man will have positive results, because I told him there is quite a few owners that are interested. So I will keep you all informed, and hopefully next time I post a message; I will have the install and parts lists for you.

Take Care and may Many Blessing come your Way!

The bracket is there for the European B3030.
The european B3030 comes with the horn and it also comes with the 40 Amp alternator instead of the 15 amp dynamo from factory.
2 year warranty

ROGER That Madslick! The "Field Rep" acknowledged the European B3030 Horn, and he even remarked the possible availability of the set-up for the CONUS Models.

It's almost like buying a VW in Germany and shipping it back to CONUS, but before you do, it has to have sealed beams, safety glass ect...........I hear their tractors have to have horns and so-on.

Boy the 40 Amp Alternator is not a bad idea.

Best Regards - Bruce!

Maybe the Europeans require the horns on all tractors sold there. I think
the parts book for every tractor I have owned shows horn parts for their
Euro version.

That said, I install horns on my tractors, primarily for communication when
others are around or near. It is hard to yell over the tractor and not
nearly as effective. Sometimes the signalling is to a helper while you are
doing a construction task. I also have a mirror, mostly for the times when
someone drives up behind me on my private road and I can not hear them.

Does the B3030 really only have a 15A alternator? My brochure is not like
the UK one....no alternator mentioned.

I guess I can understand wanting to use all Kubota parts for the horn installation, and I too thought it was remiss of Kubota not to provide one on our L3830. Especially since our old clunker L245DT had one. But it was a fairly easy job to go to the auto parts store (much closer than the Kubota dealer) and get a horn, inline fuse, weatherproof button for the dash, and wire it up. Even made a label that says HORN, so I can remember what the button is for.

25 Apr 08 - I spoke with the Field Rep this past week, and he is still working on the proper hook-up and parts we all will need. He also stated there was one U.S. Dealer that received a new B3030 w/Horn. So I don't know if all the new numbers are coming through that way. However, he did say the Engineering Department in Japan has the Kit. But the only draw back is having the proper connection for the Composite Switch we own. I assume that is the kits for the other side of the world.

So basically, the U.S Engineering Department does not necessarily have solid dialog across the ocean with its counterpart for the matching parts we would need.

Sorry this is taking so long, but this Field Rep is a super person and equally determined to get this worked out.

I even told him about all of us, and said there is a bunch of B3030 guys that would like a proper horn on their machines.

So he will in touch and hopefully will have what we need with genuine Kubota Parts.

Best Regards.........Bruce! P.S. - I just bought 40 gals of Deisel last night for the tractors........and was over $40.00. This whole fuel thing is out of control. I dred the thought of winter for heat. Wish we run on H2O as a nitrogen alternative.

B3030 HORN INSTALLATION!!!!! FINALLY.............

Today 6 Sept 08...........finally I was successful installing a kubota factory horn on my B3030. I appoligize for taking so long, but the Kubota tech rep got back to me a couple of times and then dead silence.

So I did my own research and ordered the horn kit for a B26, and purchased the composite light switch for the B26 as well.

If any of you gentlemen would like the parts list and the install process I did, I will be happy to post it here, or my e-mail which is allons77@verizon.net or we can talk by land line..........just let me know.

The total cost was $105.00 for kit and the switch, and I also purchased a 3 post horn relay, as well as a fuze holder with 10 amp fuze. It works great and very loud. The relay and fuze assembly was about another $12.00. Its alot safer to use this set up, meaning relay w/fuze.

I promised I wouldn't give up, but sorry it took so long to get back to you all.

The best part is it - its all factory.........the B26 Composite switch has one more detent position past the headlings for additional spot lights, which acts as an additional off switch for the headlights when placed into that position. No big deal........but down the road if you add spot lights, you can use the same switch........cool!!

Best regards...........Bruce!:)

Hello BX24..........I don't have that capability right now...........maybe later on.

I can talk you through the process though, its pretty simple, but time consuming.

Let me know........Bruce

Here is the parts list you will need to install a Factory Horn on your B-3030.

OK here's the parts list:;)

6A100-30850 ASSY HORN 1EACH
32781-96550 STAY HORN 1 EACH
01754-50616 BOLT FLANGE 4EACH
32781-98520 WIRE HARNESS 1 EACH
53581-64150 BAND CORD 2 EACH
32741-55420 SWITCH, COMBINATION - FOR A B26 TRACTOR. (1 EACH)

THE HORN KIT - MINUS THE B-26 SWITCH IS REFERENCE NUMBER 01U831, PAGE 152 IN THEIR PARTS MANUAL

CALLED HORN KIT (W/G NO.L8043)

YOU WILL NEED TO BUY A HORN RELAY..........I USED BRAND NAME "STANDARD" PART NUMBER HR 106, AND PURCHASED A 10 AMP FUSE HOLDER AND A 10 AMP FUSE.

THAT SHOULD GET YOU STARTED, AND THEN IF YOU LIKE I CAN GIVE YOU HOW I WIRED MINE, STEP - BY - STEP. THE B-26 SWITCH PLUG IN IS THE SAME - MINUS I BELIEVE 4 PINS. I USED A MULTI METER TO ID THE 2 HORN PINS, THEN POPPED THEM OUT AND RAN 2 SEPARATE WIRES FOR THE PROJECT.

ALSO TO POP THE OLD SWITCH OUT, THERE IS A POP-OUT SIDE COVER BELOW THE SWITCH ON THE LEFT SIDE........BE CAREFUL WITH THAT, AND THEN POP THE STEERING COLUM BOOT AWAY SO YOU CAN POP THE SWITCH OUT. THERE'S NOT TO MUCH HARNESS, SO BE CAREFUL.

It works great, and very loud!

Added: Here is the process and connections:

DISCONNECT BATTERY GROUND.

REMOVE FRONT GRILL, THEN LEFT SIDE COVER.

BEND BRACKET 90DEGREES, AND MOUNT 3 5/8" FROM THE RIGHT SIDE FACING THE TRACTOR , DRILL 2 HOLES FOR THE METRIC BOLTS,(SNUG IT) ON THE ANGLE BLACK BAR IN FRONT OF THE RADIATOR, FASTEN HORN TO BRACKET. OR YOU COULD DO IT ON THE FIREWALL. BUT IT IS LOUDER IN THE FRONT. JUST SNUG, CHECK CLEARANCE.

MOUNT HORN RELAY (LOOSELY) TO BOTTOM BOLT ON FIREWALL, STARTER SIDE. WILL POSSIBLY HAVE TO ANGEL IT SO SIDE COVER CLEARS.

REMOVE FACTORY SWITCH ON TRACTOR, IT UNPLUGS, BE CAREFUL - PRESS DETENTS AND PLUG PULLS APART.

ON B-26 SWITCH WHICH IS THE SAME HOOK-UP, THE HORN HAS 2 PINS, ONE ON TOP OF EACH OTHER. - BUT I WOULD TEST WITH A MULTIMETER - SET TO RX1, TOUCH THE 2 PINS AND PRESS THE HORN BUTTON TO ENSURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT TWO PINS.

PRESS THEM OUT, TRIM THE ENDS AND CRIMP MALE OR FEMALE OF WATER TIGHT CONNECTORS ON EACH WIRE. ADD APPROX 24" OF WIRE I USED WHITE WIRE,18 GAGE, CRIMPED THE OTHER OPPOSITE WATER TIGHT CONNECTORS ON THE END AND PLUG INTO THE TWO HORN WIRES FROM THE SWITCH. RUN THEM DOWN THROUGH THE ST
EERING HOUSING AND OUT UNDER THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FIREWALL.

CONNECT THE 10 AMP FUSE HOLDER 18 GAGE FROM THE HOT POST OF THE STARTER SOLENOID TO THE CENTER POST OF THE HORN RELAY..........IT SHOULD BE MORE THAN LONG ENOUGH. USE A
HOLE CONNECTOR CRIMP END ON THE FUSE WIRE TO THE STARTER SOLENOID. THE HORN RELAY (AT LEAST) THE ONE I USED HAD SCREWS TO CONNECT THE WIRES TO THE HORN RELAY. NORMALLY THE HORN RELAY LOOKING AT IT ON THE FIREWALL IS THE LEFT POST IS TO THE SWITCH, CENTER HOT, RIGHT TO HORN.

CONNECT ONE WHITE WIRE FROM THE SWITCH TO THE SWITCH POST ON THE HORN RELAY.

USE THE HARNESS OF THE HORN KIT AND CONNECT TO THE HORN, 2 WIRES. YOU WILL HAVE TO ADD SOME WIRE SO ITS LONG ENOUGH.
RUN THEM THROUGH A HOLE YOU DRILL NEXT TO THE BATTERY HOT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RADIATOR. OH I FORGOT TO MENTION - I REMOVED THE BATTERY AND REMOVED THE OVERFLOW BOTTLE TO DRILL THE HOLE AND FEED THE WIRES WRAPPED WITH TUBING COVER. ONE HORN WIRE GOES TO GROUND ALONG WITH
THE OTHER WHITE WIRE FROM THE SWITCH. I GROUNDED THEM BOTH TOGETHER TO THE BOLT ON THE FIREWALL THAT HOLDS THE HORN RELAY ON THE FIRE WALL. THE SECOND HORN WIRE GOES TO THE HORN POST OF THE HORN RELAY.

YOU SHOULD BE DONE, MINUS ZIP TYING ALL THE HOOK-UPS FOR A NEAT JOB.

NOTE: WHILE THE BATTERY WAS OUT I NOTICED A BIT OF ACID CORROSION ON THE COOLING TUBES, AND SERVICED AND CLEANED THE AREA THOROUGHLY.

THE HORN IS ALWAYS HOT WITH THIS HOOK-UP AND I TESTED IT BY TOUCHING THE GROUND AND A SECOND PERSON ACTIONING THE HORN BUTTON. WORKS GREAT AND DON'T FORGET YOU HAVE ANOTHER POSITION FOR WORK LIGHTS ON THE SWITCH. HOWEVER, I DIDN'T CHECK IF THE CHARGING SYSTEM CAN HANDLE 3 TO 4 MORE LIGHTS.........THAT'S A SERVICE TECH QUESTION THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.

WELL I DON'T THINK I MISSED ANYTHING............BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.......E-MAIL ME @ allons77@verizon.net.

V/r.....Bruce!

I haven't done it yet. Hopefully next spring.

Just put a bunch of $$ out to add 2 pairs of ROPS worklights and tire chains for all 4 wheels. Should make it quite a snow removing beast.

No more money left in the tractor fund, except for an amber flashing beacon for those bone-headed drivers out there that can't see all the factory lights and my 4 additional bright white work lights.

Understand Bandit - and concur with the suppos-ed drivers, we gott-em here too.....they are everywhere.

Sounds like you will move that snow for sure.............take care and God Bless!
