And another thing.

My Green ym2000 has a removable rod around 2ft long and 10mm thick clipped to the left hand side chassis rail.

I can only think that it is a prop for the bonnet but I can't work out where it goes.

My tractor has an after market air filter set up with a barrel type filter in front of the radiator top tank. Does the origional flat, round filter case have a socket for this rod to fit in?

C'mon Guys.
Hasn't someone seen this thing?

It has a rubber cap on one end and a small pin across the other end.

I'll take a pic next week when i'm back out the farm.

Sorry Wombat,
Not ignoring you, but thats the old style YM2000. Not at all familiar with it. Nice looking tractor though.

That's the first time I've seen a hood 'prop rod' on any Yanmar tractor.

Thanks Guys.:)

She's a great old clunker,loves to work.

The prop could be an add on but it has me perplexed.
It doesn't seem to fit anywhere, but it looks original.
I might have to make up a bracket to slip it into under the hood.

Wombat, what are those front tires? I'm wondering if an automotive tire would gouge less and steer easier than rib front tires.

Comments?

(And that's sure a unique color, isn't it! :D)

Cali, those are light truck tyres.
They were on it when I got it, rice tyres on the back.

They steer pretty good except in soft, wet soil. Then they push/slide a bit and I have to use the L/R brake to turn tight. Cheap and easy to get though.

The green is a bit hard on the eyes some mornings, probably due to the previous nights activities though.;)

Looks good Wombat. Now I understand your need for a prop. All the Yannies I had seen have the hood which tilts forward.
