I'm using a Honda weed eater that has been one of the best pieces of equipment I own. It has never failed to crank and run when I called upon it. Recently it has started something strange.....It will start and run fine for as long as you want to run it. If, however, you shut it down after 10 minutes or more use it will not start at all no matter how many times you pull the string. Its almost like a vapor lock or some electronic part is getting hot not working any longer. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Anytime this has happened to me with a small engine it has been a coil issue..

It's worth trying a new spark plug.

To OP you dont state model # ? Could even be fuel cap vent sticks. Open the cap and prime the bulb and see if it starts.

After using two-stroke junkers for several years I bought a Honda weed eater in 1997. It has never missed a lick since and I use the heck out of it every year. If I were to go out to the garage right now and pour some gas in it, it will start on the second pull even though I haven't used it since October. So I have no idea what could be going wrong with yours unless like someone above mentioned, the coil is going bad. Mine has never exhibited that problem. Shouldn't be the spark plug if it starts and runs when cold.
