Homegrown Attachments

Anyone have any "cool" home grown attachments for their Cubs. I am trying to figure out how to mount a bucket (plastic 5 gal type) so that I can collect trash/etc as I mow. I would also like to have some place to put a pump sprayer to spot spray the occasional dandelion....

I don't have a picture of it, but I've made a discharge chute lifter with a rope. I drilled a hole in the forward top part of the chute, about an inch from the outer edge. I used small 3/16" nylon rope with a knot on the underside of the chute. The other end is tied to the seat base. About half way up the rope I tied in a metal hook. The hook can be hooked to the seat frame to hold the chute up when I'm backing in/out of the shed, and when I want to "let 'er fly!"

It's handy when you want to mow past a tree that's on the wrong side, or go through a gate. It's an easy mod that has saved me a lot of grief. On my ol' Ford YT-16H, I used to lift the chute with my fingertips, and I thought "this is stupid!"

Takes about 15 minutes and two beers to install. YMMV!

Another one: I bought one of those "grabber" thingies from Walmart. It has two suction cup looking pieces on the outer end. Perfect for grabbing tennis balls (no WHOOMPH any more!), sticks, etc. Mine folds in the middle, and I epoxied a magnet to it so it sticks to the platform. I can even use it to flip open a gate w/o getting off the seat! Very Handy!!
