I'm on my 2nd bowl, and yes, it's delicious.

I always found that homemade ice cream was too sweet because of using real cream so I could never eat more than one bowl.

What flavor are you having? I always loved peach with fresh peaches the best.

Me, too. And I'd even buy store bought peach ice cream if I could find it.

I keep looking at the machines at TSC, but so far have resisted the urge. Enjoy! :licking:

I use to have MANY vices and bad habits. Now - age and my DOCTOR have eliminated them all, except - - an occasional bowl of strawberry ice cream. As a matter of fact - tomorrow being the 4th of July - I will be going to my son's house for the festivities and I'm hoping for a bowl of homemade strawberry ice cream. HA..........

so if you make it yourself, put in less sugar.

I do have some strawberry ice cream from Walmart in the refrigerator; not quite the same as homemade, but no bad. Quite a few years ago, we visited the Tillamook dairy products place in Oregon and had some of their ice cream that they claimed was made from what was left over after making cheese. It was good ice cream, and of course, I had no idea that the remains from making cheese was any good, and of course, I still have no idea how that ice cream was made.

We always just make vanilla and then if you want to add some strawberries or other fruit to the bowl then have at it. I prefer just plain vanilla when home made.

We have a jar of caster sugar with a split vanilla bean in it, takes a couple of months but tastes better than vanilla extract (IMO).
Just shake it up and top up as needed.
