Home Made Hydraulic Power Pack

Has anyone ever built their own power pack? I don't really want to spend $3k or more on something that will be used a couple of times a year. I was thinking about making one out of a PTO hydraulic pump and an old beer keg.

I think some members have done that. I would try to figure a way to put an oil cooler in the circuit somewhere. These tend to really heat up the hydraulic oil.

That wouldn't be hard to add could even add a 12volt radiator fan to help cool the fluid before it went back into the tank
