On a side note, not to get off topic......it was cold again here in Fl this A.M., albeit not like it was the 2 days prior.

Did you mean, "Not to get back on topic"?

Sorry about that. I forgot what the topic actually was...lol Carry on, disregard statements from me, just a little bored from cabin fever. I am not leaving the heated home till it's at least 70 outside again.

I remember the topic now - lake effect snow forcasted but seasonable temps (about 24 degrees)........that wasn't so hard!!!

It's actually really nice outside today. My Bassets are catching the rays in the yard and I'm going to go check the boards on my dock.

Very simple Loran, money and money again. It is much easier to get a grant researching the global warming than anything else. Suppose you know that, since you did little science. Guess what all your climatologists are doing? Yes, market behavior, they go for what is available.

Do you ever consider, that your 90% climatologists could be wrong? Just because they are loudest does not mean they are right. Is there one single thing they predicted that became true? Name one.
And the fact they are lying - they check data with each other and change it and skip numbers to match their theory - is beyond doubt.

Again and for the last time, it is your religion and your sect.

By Gosh; up here in the Frozen North it was even warmer than down Central Florida way!:D:D

Somehow or other I have been led to believe that the early Earth atmosphere was carbon dioxide???:confused2:

Oil is a small part of our CO2 emissions. The majority comes from burning coal, primarily to generate electricity.

Even if you don't accept global warming, you have to realize that someday the fossil fuels will all be burned up. Oil is already getting harder and harder to find, which is why they are drilling a mile deep in the Gulf. Our grandchildren will need alternatives.

I am well aware of the fact that use use coal, and also natural gas in the United States. I simply substituted the word "oil" for the term "fossil fuel", because "fossil fuel" that is another bunch of tripe invented by environmentalists, to convince us we would run out of it tomorrow, so we have to find a replacement for it immediately. Therefore, I have never used the term. Discovery backs theory oil not 'fossil fuel'

We will run out of "oil" because the demand is higher than nature can create it. And, because the Environmentalists keep succeeding on putting more and more of it off limits. Even at that, much to the dismay of the greenies, we still have many decades worth of proven reserves, and much, much more undiscovered.

I think they were the same bunch who told me all through school that if the world population ever got as high as it is right now, we would all starve, because we could not possibly feed this many people. And now, ....we have an obesity epidemic.

Loran was discontinued....

A little factual information to demonstrate the validity of their predictions. An example would be good. There have been predictions from years ago that continued and increasing burning of fossil fuels will result in elevated CO2 levels.

'Climategate' Debunking Gets Less Coverage Than Original Trumped-Up Scandal (VIDEO)

"Of course, since then, the grownups have stepped back to the fore, and five independent investigations have, as Steve Benen points out, "concluded that the integrity of the science is entirely sound" and that the "deniers' arguments were debunked." Where's the coverage, though?"

Climategate debunked by new report - Live blog | Gather

"A new independent report funded by the University of East Angelica has debunked the Climategate scandal that derailed climate talks at last year's Copenhagen Summit."

These investigations received almost no coverage compared to the conspiracy theory.

There is a difference between science and religion. Not sure why you have to accuse me of a religious thing???? Its ok to disagree and be civil.

Its a big world out there - yes we are fat (too many)

The world hunger problem: Facts, figures and statistics

"Every year 15 million children die of hunger"

"The World Health Organization estimates that one-third of the world is well-fed, one-third is under-fed one-third is starving- Since you've entered this site at least 200 people have died of starvation. Over 4 million will die this year."

"One out of every eight children under the age of twelve in the U.S. goes to bed hungry every night."

I do not remember being told in school often enough that over-population was a problem. (actually not at all) Definitely would have gotten a teacher in trouble on religious grounds. Not sure what other schools did - In the high school where I worked for 20 years students received much more of the conservative view - especially from our history department.IMHO

In the 1970's, there was a resurgence of an 80 year old alarmist theory by Thomas Malthus that the world could simply not hold the population levels that were clearly on their way. There were media reports, a best selling book by Paul R Ehrlich, as well as others, pushing alarmist ideas, demanding all kinds of insane policies, or else.

They had the enviro-hippies all worked up, spewing this nonsense.

This is where I first heard "If we don't act now, it will be too late!!!", and they told everyone who dismissed them,"What.. if.. your.. wrong??".

Same play book, different crisis.
