January 1, 1960, before the Triest dove to the bottom of the Mariana trench, virtually every scientists agreed that there would be no life on the bottom of the ocean. Every bit of data, and evidence at that time was conclusive, it just was not possible. OOOPS! Science was 100% wrong.
The science is not "settled", science is never "settled". We read stories almost daily about how they were wrong about something.
As long as scientists need to "find" something to get funding for their research, as was shown in the leaked e-mails, they will do what ever it takes to get that done. This includes NASA scientists who have also been implicated for faking data. They have to beg for research money like everyone else.
There are polls that can't easily be discredited, like the one CBS did this year of meteorologists, (that would be people who actually dedicated their lives to studying weather, and don't profit from global warming funding), which found most of them don't believe man is causing global warming. I can only imagine if that poll was done by an unbiased group, how high the results would have really been.
Loren, you discount the political aspect of this movement, but that it is what makes it viable.
The green party, PITA, environmental, and animal rights groups, have been praying for a way to have their agenda forced on the world.
They have aligned with the left, who are indoctrinating our children with their political views through public education, the liberal media, and most universities, disguised as saving the world, in the name of, "man made climate change". They know when they manage to manufacture enough supporters, they will be able to get the "We have to act now" card to work, then they can control everything everyone in the world does.
If you have read any of what the extremists who are driving this movement want the world to be like, most of it makes **** Germany look like pretty good.
BTW, I belong to a group of mostly educated professional people who meet weekly, they have family who are professionals, and scientists, and my brother who actually is a scientist for NASA, none of which believe the moon landing was faked, the earth is 4000 years old, or global warming is being caused by man.
