Remember local weather is not climate. Why do some claim local cold as disproof of a warming trend?

2010 on Pace to Be Warmest on Record, NASA Says - NYTimes.com

"An analysis of average global temperatures through November by NASA痴 Goddard Institute for Space Studies shows 2010 on pace to become the warmest year since the collection of temperature data began 130 years ago. NASA previously ranked 2005 as its warmest year ever."

No complaint about comparing local temps but to leap again to deny climate change leads to a closed thread!!

because lot of the data is cooked to match the GW theory. And for GW people cold winter or warm winter, cold summer and hot summer means confirmation of GW - like a roulette where the red and black wins in the same time.
You Americans know nothing about it, but there was a scandal with the climate data being tempered with. The US media did not publish it, it is inconvenient truth.

Overnight low of 20 ... but feels like 10 ... Here in FL??????

Hello Al Gore ... Come in Al Gore ... Please turn your jet engines on us if that'll warm us up ... Oh & explain this whole low temp thing while you're here.

Thank you Al Gore

ps I know some of you are much colder than this, but hey this is FL!!! We aren't prepared for this kinda thing!!!

Not Al Gore but instead of saying Global Warming say Climate Change. Summers will be hotter and winters will be colder. The experts say Climate Change alters the path of the Jet Stream allowing the Jet Stream to move the cold air from Canada in the lower 48. So enjoy the cold weather, it will be hot or hotter this summer.

Sorry to disappoint you. but climate changes are happening for thousands of years. In Czech countries we measure temperature from days when Harward was a goat barn - :D:D - and according to that data there is not much to back up algore and his political agenda. That's why climate alarmists adjust the collected data, because there is a lot of money to be made on climate change.

But GW or climate change is a religion, it has all the signs of religion or a cult - you either believe it or not.

Loran...I personally don't deny the climate changes...it has changed in cycles since the beginning of time...this is a cycle and it is not brought on by man or human activity. To think humans are significant enough to actually have any real impact on the climate of the earth is absurd and arrogant to me...We humans are not capable of preventing the earth from healing itself.

More pollution comes from animals and trees than from anything humans could do...More raw oil leaks naturally into the ocean than any spills created by man....don't get me started...:)

My point is a discussion of area temperatures and weather is interesting but every time we get a cold wave many feel vindicated in making remarks against scientists and any person who feels that science shows that human activities could possibly effect climate. I have yet to see these same people draw a similar conclusion in the middle of our recent heat waves.
I'm suggesting we leave that discussion and those comments out of this type of thread. Just tell us about your weather. Near average temps here yesterday but into the single digits today - not much snow. :)

It was 20*F here in North Central Florida again today, but the UK London Times stated that it has been the coldest week in London, England since they first began taking temperatures there in 1629.

Where was Al Gore then, inventing the thermometer???? :D

"It's so cold out I'm thinking about letting the dog crap on the living room floor"

So much in common ;)

Geez it's very simple.

If "The planet has a fever", don't you get chills when you have a fever? :D

The only reason there is no reliable temperature data available anywhere in the world prior to 1629 is that is the year they discovered their newly invented "thermometer" was actually a "barometer" and they had to start all over again with this newly invented measuring device.

Of course, cavemen have been measuring global warming and cooling since the beginning of time with a much more sensitive time tested method, the rear-end!!! :D

Al was there too.........
