I think it's time to get ready for a tough winter in the SE....

Got 5 gallons of fuel in my spare can and a full tank on the tractor...
Put my last winter treatment in the the tank and can...

So looks like I'll be making a run for some more treatment soon.

Just dropped the box blade off and loaded the scrape blade onto the 3 pt..

so for me-- that is about all we do around here....
Well, guess I should count packing the foul weather bag for the truck.
solar blanket, first aid kit, change of clothes (winter clothes), pocket warmers, spare winter gloves, watch cap, etc....

Speaking from experience, getting it on the tractor is not the hard part. There is definately a better way to use a snow plow, and it takes some practice.

I would like to get mine ready for winter, but I have too many trees to cut up, split and move, and to finish getting my site completed for a pole building that I am having built next week, so I need my front end loader for that work.

I will probably just wait until the day I need my blower to get it ready.

If the economic situation doesn't improve in New York, We're gonna start looking around the mid-south. I'm sick of 4' snowfalls(24 hrs) and 6 mos of winter. We were in the middle of that record snowfall a couple of years ago, 11' in 3 weeks was a bit much. A friend used his BIG log skidder to push back my banks so we had room to park.

Perhaps I can drive down to texas again with a straight truck and car on flat bed. My freind that I drove the stuff for him jokingly said I brought the wrath of the snow to texas from NYS. It was snowing when I left, drove through a ice storm in arkansa and it snowed just north of dallas in beginning of december and there were cars all over the road in ditches in texas just from couple inches of snow!. I was like huh?! 2 inches send everybody in the ditches in texas .

Anyway- this morning we had a really good frost on the ground around here and it won't be long before I get to test my newly rebuilt truck plow for my tractor .
