Moving faster than predicted to the NE. Radar loop says our rain should stop in a couple of hours, instead of midnight. Already slowing down.

moving along fast is always good, unless you really need 8-10" of rain.

We're about an hour south of Tyler and the rain has stopped, still a bit breezy. There is heavy mist being blown around. We ended up with 5" of rain.

Heavy rain scheduled for us here in Arkansas tonight.

Supposed to start around 11 in our area.

Local stations are milking it with constant weather reports and updates.

Possible tornado action in the southern part of the state. But not much expected in our area except for the heavy rain.

7pm

Looks like it's moved past here. The last 15 minutes have been extremely windy. A lot stronger wind then any other time today!!! It's still raining, but not very hard. Looks like we got another 1 1/2 inches of rain in the last 2 hours. That's 5 inches so far today, and 6 inches since last night.

Still nothing on the tornados. People on FB are seeing damage, but it will be a day or two before it's confirmed or not.

Now we're waiting to see if the trees fall over.

The power is out. I bought 20 gallons on Sunday to be ready. We’ve lost power two other times this year because of storms. It’s becoming a regular thing

Rain and wind is over for us.

I'm just a little SW of San Antonio and we didn't get so much as a sprinkle from Beryl. The breeze barely moved the leaves. We had it worse about five days ago. High winds and about 1.5" of rain from a totally different system.

Now if the humidity would ease up and the temps stay about where they were today......
Nope. It's summer time in Tx. Return of 90's+ heat will return tomorrow. And lets not even
think about August, yet.
EW, hope you get power comes back on soon.

Day 2

Power has been out for over 12 hours.

Looks like one tornado touched down. We’ll have to wait for confirmation on it

Weather Guy on TV said that the high temperature yesterday was the lowest in history for that date

He also said that there where 67 tornadoes in the 4 state area. Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas combined.

Winds where 45 MPH in Tyler

Temps today are expected to be 88 with a lot of humidity. I’m putting in a window AC unit and another floor AC unit that has an exhaust pipe to keep the humidity down inside the house. We have box fans all over the house.

Internet is down.

We have plenty of food and propane for the grill. My wife is thawing out steaks, so we’re sort of Glamping.

It is what it is

11 am, the day after

Still no power, but our internet is back up. We've been using our cell phones.

I thought this was interesting.

"As of last night…more than 95 tornado warnings were issued in the eastern side “dirty side” of Beryl, affecting SETX, East Texas, and Louisiana.

NWS Shreveport issued tornado warnings, breaking the previous record set by the office for the most warnings in a single day (36). Additionally, this number of warnings also ties the record for the most tornado warnings issued in an entire month."

We're not far from there. We didn't have high winds or lightning here.

Mrs. went to Longview a bit ago. I'll ask her how Gilmer looked enroute when she returns. (We have to go through Gilmer to get there).

Thank you!

I was in Pittsburg, Tx and it was a no show as far as hurricanes go. Thank God.

Day 2

22 hours without power. Oncor, the power company, says they are aware of it, and their website says there is an outage at our place that's affecting 45 homes. I guess we're small potatoes for them when there are areas with thousands of homes without power.

We have a small window AC unit that I put in that helps with the humidity. We have 6 box fans moving the air around. Fridge and freezer are on the generator.

We have everything we need, it's just a waiting game until the power comes back on.

The longest I can remember being out of power was about 5 days. That was in 2002 for Hurricane Lilly.

About 2 years ago I installed a 24kw generator that will power my whole house and my shop. I had to run about 850' of 1" natural gas line to get to my generator. Since March 1, 2023, it has run for 13 hours that we were out of power.

It was expensive, but I am really happy that I made the investment, every time the power goes out.
