I suggest doing google search for Kubota BX25 parts. Many suppliers will provide diagrams of tractor sections to help identify part required. Some will E-mail parts diagram and parts numbers/specs.

That stuff is usually 10Mm or 12mm...Not really sure, but those are readily available.

99% of the time, it's something so small, such as this. One's mind always go the HUGE things, but most of the time, its a missing bolt, clip or nut.

New Kubota owners need to relax. I don't believe Kubota has "slipped" at all. It's just that stuff happens, and if and when it does, it gets reported here. Gotta realize how many thousands of machines are out there running and working. Reading a forum like this might leave you with the impression that every other one was breaking or something, which isn't the case at all. We don't get 10,000 posts a day saying, "My 'Bota is working great!" :D:D

It's just the nature of a mutual help forum.

so it looks like, to get to this bolt, I need to remove what looks like an oil filter and maybe the protector plate. So I suppose I am going to just look up the procedure to do an oil change on this bad boy, and while I am at it, replace this nut.

One strange thing...just yesterday or the day before I found a curious part just sitting on top of the dirt. It is a small silver metal "u" shaped bracket, maybe 1" square with a hole on one side. (imagine taking a strip of steel about 3/4" wide by 2 & 1/4" long, maybe 1/16th inch thick, and bending it in thirds into a "U" Shape, then drill a hole in the center of one end.

Does this part ring any bells?

I am sure you will ask me to take a picture vice my 1000 words, i'll get to it if no one jumps on my verbal description.

Is there a connection to my disconnected linkage and this part?

My mind always goes here. First, I'd love to look under an identical machine to my own see what's missing. But alas, no neighbor with one who'll be kind enough to park next to mine to make the comparison. :D So.....

That is what exploded parts diagrams are for, I guess. Messick's used to have great ones on their site, but I haven't looked there for awhile.

Yes, that locks the front & rear wheels together but if used improperly it can cause problems you describe and must be fixed by the dealer. It stops spinning of one rear tire while the other has traction but should never be engaged while turning.

It does NOT lock the front and rear wheels together, that lever locks the rear differential only.

Does the other hydraulic functions work normally? Fel, 3 point, etc?
