JC, riptides, frwinks,

Thanks for the kind comments.

Nice job, it looks great. You know now your wife will want to go buy some $$$$$$$ patio furniture. A inexpensive project can add up fast when wifey's add their touch. Thats the way mine works.

:) :) :) LOL, That is what she is doing at this exact moment!

She's looking at the fliers from the home centers as I type this.
We got our tax refund of $760. yesterday so I told her to use that as her budget.
I know that's not that much, but money is a little tight this year as contracting business is way off.

Never would of thought of doing this project if I didn't get the stone on a barter deal that cost me almost nothing. Another perfect example of me being luckier than smart.

Looks great. I just finshed hardwood floors inside and the wife is out buying throw rugs to cover it all back up. Most days my head just hurts!

Well the patio stone is all laid down, Hope it doesn't go anywhere for awhile. It's 4 sq ft less than 500 sq ft. So I'm just gonna call it 500.
I used every large pc of stone (24") I had, only had to make a few cuts.

Now I have to work on a walk, will be 32' long and 36" wide, across the back of the house between the driveway and the patio, have just enough 36" stone for that. I have alot of 18" wide x varying lengths left.

I'm happy with the way it came out, It was alot of work, probably around 75 hours for 2 guys, that's with transporting the stone.

JB.

You have every right to be proud of your patio project JB as it turned out to be exceptional. I'm looking forward to seeing the sidewalk you plan on building with the remainder of the stone.

Well thanks again everyone.

I am starting to appreciate the quality of the stone, This stone was quarried over 50 years ago, It might not be easy to find this same stone today?

Some of the pcs are very rough and if you looked at one by itself you might reject it, but when put next to the others they look good.

I work on alot of older, larger, homes that have slate roofs. Many of those housees have stone patios but I never paid much attention to the details of the color and texture, but the colors in my patio look more like their roofs.

I started digging the walk Thursday but got rained out, the walk will be simple, just 36" pcs put in a row. Some are by 18, 24, 30, I have 2 big ones that are 4ft long but may cut them in half if the look to big.
