I can tell you right away what it is ...The tracks were left by a NAUGA....No question about it.. It was definitely a Nauga Monster ....The Nauga Monster 1960′s The Invisible Agent
If it wasn't a Zombie Werewolf, then Brin must be correct.
(I always wondered where they got naugahide from)

BF62,

#1 - You are SILLY! :p

#2 - When I told my daughter no way it was a bear because there were no rear prints she said "It could be a Circus Bear, and it is just walking on its fromt paws..."

Therefore she is silly too!

David
I may be a little silly, but that was early this morning, before I finished my first cup of coffee. :p

Besides, I deserve some credit, strictly for the entertainment value.

There is an exception to every rule, but the rule of thumb is that cats keep their claws retracted when walking. Grizzly and Brown bear leave claw marks, black bears dont.

He is in Virginia, and to my knowledge, there are no wolves there. Dogs are very common, and the track looks like a large dog print. Lab or sheperd sized dog, but it could be any breed of that size.

A dog is the most obvious, and most common animal that will leave a track like that. While I can't say 100 percent that it's a dog, I'm 99% sure it's a dog.

Eddie

I agree with all you say! I didn't realize you were talking claws. i thought you had reference to a clear print as to a 'smudge' print or something. I have not kept up with the wolf situation or lack of it back east, but here in the west our game population is really hurting cause of them! We had to get some LGD to put with our livestock cause of losses.

Hmmm I believe someone is pulling my leg!

My dearly departed step-dad used to say "Pull the other leg and it plays Jingle bells"...

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

BF62's Zombie werewolf was the funniest so far. Or the Chubacapra one...

David

David

You caught that ... hard to get anything past you.

Prints are in a straight line. I need to go measure the distance between them...

My experience with fox and coyote tracks in the snow is that they are in a VERY sine wave just barely off of straight. Like maybe 1/2" variation but basically in a straight line.

That is what these look like.

David

I would wait for a fresh snow and track it.

Theres the old saying sometimes you get the zombie wolf and sometimes the zombie wolf gets you and sometimes it doesn't pay to go into the woods

+1 on the dog of Labrador size -- we have wolves, large coyotes and crosses around our farm and our labs' foot prints always outsize them and have much clearer claw marks-- since labs have webbed feet they often leave clear distinct pad and claw marks where they walk -- JMHO
