Looking to buy either a Pace American Journey 6x12 or and Interstate cargo in the same enclosed utility single axle Opinions on either or both please??????

Trailer buying 101: Look for quality components, good welds, nice fit and finish, and the ever so important wiring done properly.

As far as welds I see they both look good...not sure on the wireing the Interstate has LED lights the Pace doesn't..not sure what axle they use in the Interstate but it is a torsion axle..The Pace uses the Dexter Ez Ride...

Look at the wiring harness on the Pace it may have plug in connections [like 'truck lite']that could be changed to LED, they last alot longer. For heavy use I'd prefer to stay away from the torsion axle but that's my personal feelings...

I agree about the torsion axle. They are fine on single axle applications but we have noticed tandems and tri setups on boat trailers one or more of the axles taking the brunt of the load due to them being independent of each other and having no load equalizing capability like leaf springs have. This leads to more blow outs and uneven tire wear. This may not be a problem on other types of trailers where the load can be shifted to equalize things out. Now the benefit is they are much quieter and simpler with less parts to maintain and wear.

Thanks Guys this will be a single axle for lite use so Hopefully the torsion axle
will work...hard decision when both are price within $100 of each other!
