Hi:
Im new to Tractorbynet and I just bought a BX1500 with 150 hours in excellent condition. It has a 54mmm and a manual angle 54" front blade (TG 2754) on a quick hitch. This front blade is controlled by a pedastal mounted 4 way valve. I think its called a BX1612 4-way valve.

I am familiarizing myself with the controls. The front blade doesnt seem to have a "float" posiiton. Am I missing something or is this the way the valve operates?

I would like to add a LA181 loader (If i can find one). I am told that this is the valve that operates the loader as well.

Comments would be appreciated.
Thank you
Greg

Try pushing the control lever all the way up. You should feel a detent point, after which the blade is in float.

Congrats on your new tractor. It's a stout little unit.

I don't have the 4-way, only the 3-way that goes away with the loader. But I would figure it would work the same way. Give it a good shove straight away from you and when it stays there by itself, you're in float.

Float on a front blade? I guess...seems like you could make a real mess that way. I know when I float box blade, it digs itself to China.

If you can't find the LA181, I think Woods makes a FEL that fits. But it isn't as pretty as the OEM unit. And I think it comes with its own controls which would be a real pain with your permenantly mounted 4-way.

If you do find a LA181, be sure it is one that doesn't already have the 3-way attached. Not sure how those options work...I'm sure it can get a little complex...most had the 3-way I think. Probably why they went with the mounted 4-way on all the new tractors. But why'd they have to make the stick so darn long?

That 4 way does have a float position like they said, straight ahead after a slight felt dedent, contro; handle moves a little further than the other positions.By the way if plow cyclinder hoses are not hooked up right to the 4 way no float either, should be 1 on top port one on bottom port. When pushing control handle forword blade should go down and raise tractor up if you go to float a little further forword tractor will come down this is float position.Hope this Helps. Bill
