good idea. Think I will go on search for a better pin.

IF, and that's a big if, you anticipate changing buckets often there are other shape of retaining pins that are relatively easy to swap by hand but are rarely lost.
For example the guy that dug a trench for my water line changed buckets a couple of times, used a real narrow bucket going across my driveway, bigger bucket for the rest of the work.

I don't have a backhoe attachment but every "pin" on the bottom side of my 3-point and ALL implements - I have replaced with a grade 8 bolt and Nylok nut. I was, at one point, loosing lynch/hair pins like they were going out of style. Never damaged or lost anything except the hair pins and the lynch pins.

And, quite honestly, I don't have a lot of brush to speak of.

Yeah I would like to get a quick change system with several buckets.

But there are also "bow tie locking cotter pins"

I have found some linchpins that snap closed tighter than a big 'ol rat trap. You have to be careful with them, been snapped more than once, but they definitely are more secure than the standard linch pin. About the only thing I've found that is close to 100% is the grade 8 bolt with Nylock nut. A real PITA if you do frequent changes.

That pin you picture there Newbury looks like some of my son's Chinese puzzles. I kept looking for a way to "undo" it.
