Whoa thats wet.
I think I saw you’re getting more rain?
We got some light showers today. I mowed anyway.

No man ever made a bale of hay waiting.

Your not kidding. Our month and half total is 8.31 inches. Lots of corn not planted. Corn that was planted during a dry spell a month ago or more looks like corn that was planted couple weeks ago. All of it is just up, yellow, sitting and waiting for good weather. Going to work on baleage. Can't get 3 days together of weather to make dry hay. A lot of people won't mow in the rain. I have no problem doing that. Gets that head start. Even if it is on off drizzle all day it is still surprising how much it dries when you think it shouldn't have.

Where do you get that data from? I use the “live” weather maps.

BTW: It’s 57 degrees here this morning. Global warming my ass.

Break it down to my area with this

Was going to do baleage but after finding this on good ground where I wrap guess I’ll do nothing.

We have no choice now. Too many acres to wait. I mowed yesterday and it was drizzling.
Probably be mowing in light rain or showers tomorrow, too.

Drizzled yesterday. Really glad I didn't mow the field I was planning on. It didn't really dry and made wet heavy muddy bales. But it is off I guess. Rain today later.

Working at the shop yesterday because what else is there to do. Another half inch. More today and into Saturday. Looks like we are a go maybe Saturday afternoon for a short but hopefully productive 3 day window.

Constant every other day rain here. Fields are flooded and germinated corn is yellow. Unusual weather this year.

Good for yanking out weed bushes however.

Kind of an exaggeration because I probably should have known better but 12 ft to the left is the hayfield I was trimming out. Came back to some multifloral rose I had my sights on.

For a general purpose farm tractor, I much prefer a 4x4 tractor. However, I had an emergency need for more power this hay season, so I picked up an ancient International 600 2 wheel drive. It will likely get parked whenever there is mud around.
Unfortunately we've had 2 days of rain this weekend. No hay on the ground, but more rain than I had expected. Still, I am hoping the old International won't end up in a hole somewhere.

Have a whopping 6 acres down when we should have 20-30. Look at that ground. Entire time mowing was thinking how nice this was.

Then we went to the other farm that is good ground and knocked down 11 acres for baleage and knew why we made the decision we did. There is soft then there is well beyond soft. Nothing but standing water and mud.
